Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan shot 49 out of 50, following rounds of 24 and 25 in skeet in the shotgun World Cup in Larnaca, Cyprus, on Sunday.

Seven shooters were leading on 50 after two rounds, in a strong field of 94. The top six after three more rounds will make the final.

Angad Vir Singh Bajwa (48) and Sheeraj Sheikh (45) were the two other Indians in the fray.

The Indian women skeet shooters could not make it to the World Cup as they had not shot the ‘’Minimum Travel Score’’, a qualification criteria set by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
