Joshna Chinnappa supressed the enthusiastic Tanvi Khanna, her compatriot, 12-10, 13-11, 11-7.

India's top two squash players Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa advanced to the semifinals with a touch of class in the Asian Individual Squash Championship in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

The men's top seed, Ghosal, played the last match of the day and the Indian had hardly anything extra to take care as he disposed Malaysia's sixth seed Mohd Nafizwan Adnan in straight games 11-4, 11-4, 11-3 in just 34 minutes.

The women's top seed, Joshna, on the other hand had a task in hand suppressing the enthusiastic Tanvi Khanna, her compatriot, 12-10, 13-11, 11-7.

Tanvi who made impressive strides in the championship and played with lots of motivation, continued in that vein against her senior. Unforced errors undid much of her spirited fight but Tanvi stretched Joshna in the first two games before losing them over tie-break points. That was the big positive for this Delhi girl but Joshna could not be denied her passage to the last four.
