Divij Sharan in partnership with Jonathan Erlich of Israel knocked out third seeds Ben Mclachlan of Japan and John-Patrick Smith of Australia 7-5, 6-1 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Los Cabos, Mexico.
In the quarterfinals, Divij and Erlich will play wild card entrants Hans Hach Verdugo and Dennis Novikov.
Meanwhile, in the ATP 500 event in Washington, Leander Paes, competing on a wild card with Jack Sock of the US was beaten 7-5, 6-2 by Alex De Minaur and John Peers of Australia.
In the $25,000 ITF women’s event in Britain, third seed Ankita Raina beat Joanna Garland of Chinese Taipei 7-5, 6-1 in the first round.
