Rafael Nadal celebrates after dismissing Kevin Anderson in straight sets.

Rafael Nadal moved closer to a 10th Barcelona title on Thursday when he cruised past South Africa's Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals.

Nadal, fresh from a 10th Monte Carlo triumph at the weekend, will face either Germany's Alexander Zverev or Hyeon Chung of South Korea for a semifinal spot.
