Ankita Raina beat the former world No.12 and Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-3, 6-1 to book a berth in the main draw of the $100,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Surbiton, England.
The Asian Games bronze medallist and the country’s No.1 woman tennis player, Ankita will play wild card entrant Katy Dunne of Britain in the first round of the main draw.
In the Challenger in Poland, Davis Cupper Sumit Nagal beat Constant Lestienne of France in three sets in the first round.
