Prolonged rain delayed the start of play on day nine of French Open 2016.

The rain has been a real wet blanket at this year’s Roland Garros, halting the play on several occasions. As the organizers announced that Monday’s play will be delayed at least till 1:00 p.m. (local time), Roland Garros, via Twitter, seeked the services of the Wimbledon Roof, offering it a one-week contract for a 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. job and also promising it strawberries and cream.

The tweet was deleted a few minutes after it was posted. The offer was a response to Wimbledon Roof's twitter account asking if it should help cover the stadium at Paris.

Last Monday, Roland Garros' new tournament director Guy Forget promised that Philippe Chatrier court will have a roof in 2020.
