P.V. Sindhu (above) has maintained her domination over world No.2 Akane Yamaguchi.

Of their nine previous encounters, P. V. Sindhu has won six games against Akane Yamaguchi. Interestingly, four of those wins came in straight games.

And that’s what would keep Sindhu happy when she takes on Yamaguchi in the semifinals of the All England Championship on Saturday.

Since the beginning of last year, Yamaguchi has won two of their five matches, and just three of their nine meetings have cleared the full distance.

But then, Yamaguchi had beaten the Indian ace in the final of the World Superseries Finals in Dubai last year, and she would be hoping to do an encore in the cool confines of Birmingham.

However, that should not bother Sindhu, who has battled hard in all the three games in the tournament—every time coming from the behind to clinch the game.

With both the players in red hot form, a mouth-watering clash is in the offing.
