Warriors' Kevin Durant defends social media use after latest spat

Durant's latest social media feud came on Twitter with Fox Sports reporter Chris Broussard

The superstar forward has missed the entire Western conference finals due to a calf injury suffered in the previous round

Kevin Durant has always been active on social media, voicing his opinions and weighing in on what others say about him. And he revealed on Friday that he doesn't intend to stop any time soon, despite recent spats.

"I have social media, I'm a human being with a social media account," Durant told reporters Friday (via SF Gate). "I can see if I ventured off into politics or culinary arts or music and gave my input, but I'm sticking to something I know. ... I'm qualified to talk about basketball."

Durant's latest social media feud came on Twitter with Fox Sports reporter Chris Broussard. The radio show host pointed out how the Warriors won the Western Conference finals without Durant and it would be the forward's "worst nightmare" if Golden State go on to win the title with him watching from the bench due to injury.

Durant, however, wasn't having it as he called Broussard's claims an "exaggeration."

"When I respond to something, especially if it's about me personally, of course, I'm going to tell you if you're wrong about it," Durant said on Friday. "If I'm at the training table getting treatment on my calf and I see a tweet comes out and I disagree. ... I'm not worried about what they're saying, it's that I'm interested."

The spat between Durant and Broussard escalated even further when Broussard said the two used to exchange texts. Durant wrote on twitter that Broussard doesn't even have his number, which prompted Broussard to defend himself by posting a video to his Twitter account.

"Let me start this off by saying I like and respect Kevin Durant and am not trying to continue a Twitter beef with him," Broussard said. "In my telephone, I have more than 60 direct messages from Kevin Durant on Twitter and Instagram since February of 2018. These were conversations initiated by KD himself ... If you want to argue over the difference between a text and a DM in the year 2019, to me, it's all the same thing."

Based on Durant's recent comments, it appears he plans to continue defending himself and voicing out his opinions on social media.
