The 24-year-old – famous for scoring 98 runs on his Test debut against England in 2013 – missed the early part of the Sheffield Shield season due to a broken finger in October – making only one appearance with Western Australia for four wickets.

Agar, who boasts the third-best bowling economy in the Big Bash League this season, helped Perth Scorchers beat Melbourne Renegades by three wickets on Friday.

Australia has already reclaimed the Ashes after taking an unassailable 3-0 series lead prior to the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
