Virat Kohli first captain to slam five successive fifties in World Cup
He is the second batsman after Steve Smith who slammed five back-to-back fifties in the 2015 edition.

Virat Kohli could not have asked for a better World Cup outing, like the one he is having now. In the match against England in Birmingham on Sunday, Kohli became the first captain to score five successive half-centuries in the tournament.
He is the second batsman after Steve Smith who slammed five back-to-back fifties in the 2015 edition.
At Old Trafford in the match against the West Indies, Kohli reached 20,000 international runs, joining Tendulkar and Brian Lara and also becoming the fastest to achieve the feat.

Kohli took 416 innings (131 in Tests, 223 in ODIs and 62 in T20Is) while both Tendulkar and Lara reached the milestone in 453 innings. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting took 468 innings to score 20,000 international runs.
Kohli became the 12th batsman in the elite list and is also the third Indian after Tendulkar (34,357 runs) and Rahul Dravid (24,208 runs).
The Indian skipper has scored more ODI runs than any other batsman in the world since the start of 2016 (4,189 runs), averaging 83.8 across 64 innings.
