Puducherry finds itself in the driver’s seat after gaining a 243-run lead over Mizoram in a Ranji Trophy Plate Group match at the CAP Siechem Ground on Friday.
After losing second day’s play due to rain, Puducherry reduced Mizoram to 40-8.
Starting the day at 163-3, with a lead of 71 runs, Puducherry batsman played attacking game. While Abhiskek Nayar departed early in the day without adding anything to his overnight score of 17, Fabid Ahmed scored 103 off 153. He was backed by Ranjit Bhaskaran, who played a knock of 60 to help the home team declare its innings at 375-8.

Ahmed and Baskaran put on 89 runs for the seventh wicket. For Mizoram, Sinan Khadir picked 5-97.
While batting, Mizoram lost its top three batsmen for zero. But Michael Lalremkima scored 20. For the host team, Fabid took 4-6.
In the other match, Bihar defeated Sikkim by 395 runs. Ashutosh Aman and Samar Quadri scalped five wickets each to bundle out Sikkim for 108 in the second innings. This came after Bihar scored 296-7 in the second innings.
