Ranji Trophy: Maharashtra on verge of lead

An all-round effort from Maharashtra's bowlers helped it restrict Rajasthan to 299 for 8 on the third of the Ranji Trophy Group B tie in Hyderabad. Rajasthan trails by 162 runs on the first innings with a day to go.

Maharashtra is two wickets away from a precious first-innings lead against Rajasthan after restricting it to 299 for eight on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Group B tie in Hyderabad.

Rajasthan still trails by 162 runs in the first innings in reply to Maharashtra’s 461 all out, with a day's play remaining in the game. Opener Manender Singh added 32 more runs to his overnight score before being dismissed for 63, while Siddharth Dobal scored 59.

Ashok Maneria (42) and Mahipal Lomror (32) also got starts before being dismissed. Wicketkeeper Chetan Bist was batting on 43 at stumps.

Spinners Chirag Khurana (2 for 24) and Akshay Darekar (2 for 31), and seamer Mohsin Sayyed (2 for 62) shared six wickets between them for Maharashtra.
