SC sets aside Sreesanth's life ban, new quantum of punishment to be decided by BCCI

The Supreme Court has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider the quantum of punishment while upholding the findings by the Disciplinary Committee.

The Court held that the BCCI has followed its procedure laid down in its anti-corruption code, and S. Sreesanth cannot claim violation of natural justice.

The Supreme Court has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider the quantum of punishment for former Indian pacer S. Sreesanth in the IPL spot fixing case.

The Supreme Court, however, upheld the findings by the Disciplinary Committee of the BCCI against the former India cricketer.

The Court held that the BCCI has followed its procedure laid down in its anti-corruption code, and Sreesanth cannot claim violation of natural justice.

The Kerala pacer had moved the Supreme Court saying that he has offers to play English County matches and the BCCI life ban was too harsh.

The decision with regard to the same has to be taken in three months.
