TN 167/2 after 18 overs: 100-run partnership between Jagadeesan and Karthik. Jagadeesan finishes the match in style with three boundaries and a six off Shahbaz Ahmed! TN tops the group with a fifth consecutive win.
TN 147/2 after 17 overs: 16 off 18 balls. Just a matter of time before this is sealed save a Bengal miracle. Jagadeesan completes 300 runs in the tournament. He has played really well to make up for a poor start that he generated at the start.
Cruising to a fifth-win, Jagadeesan brings up his fifty, 51* (37). The pressure is off as his side needs only 25 from the last four.
TN 126/2 after 15 overs: Sumptuous back foot strokeplay from Dinesh Karthik. He has anchored yet another chase with ease. The pressure was mounting when he stepped in and the TN skipper has plundered four boundaries of the last two overs. A milestone for Karthik as he completes 6000 runs in T20 cricket! TN needs 38 from 30 balls to win.
TN 91/2 after 12 overs: Jagadeesan enters the act, finally! Nandi's final over yields him no good as Jagadeesan lifts two huge sixes to give some momentum for TN into the fag end of the chase.
TN 62/2 after 9 overs: OUT! Excellent reply from Mukesh Kumar to remove Arun Kartik. Kartik hit the first ball for six off Mukesh's loose delivery. The paceman nails a perfect seaming ball to find the edge of the next to dismiss the well-set Kartik. Dinesh Karthik has come to the crease as the pressure as slowly crept to the Tamil Nadu batsmen. Arun Karthik c †Goswami b Mukesh Kumar 30 (20b 3x4 1x6)
TN 38/1 after 6 overs: It has been a slow start for the TN batsmen. Nishanth's early departure did not help the cause either. His fellow opener Jagadeesan has struggled with his timing while Arun Kartik has done the scoring at the other end.
TN 17/1 after 3 overs: OUT! Nandi wins the battle. He has managed to strangle Nishanth with the tight length once again and manages to chip in a floater that wraps the pads. The umpire makes no hesitation in raising the finger. An early jolt for TN. Hari Nishanth lbw b Nandi 14 (12b 3x4 0x6)
TN 8/0 after 1 over: Nandi begins well and offers no width to Nishanth. The southpaw takes on the spinner off the fourth ball and smashes one over cover and doubles it up with a sizzling square cut.
The chase is underway! Hari Nishanth and Jagadeesan at the crease for TN. Arnab Nandi with the ball.
Brief Scores - Bengal 163/8 - Kaif Ahmed 63 (47)*, Majumdar 34, Aparajith 2/20 Fall of wickets: 1-13 (Vivek Singh, 2.1 ov), 2-29 (Suvankar Bal, 4.6 ov), 3-54 (Shreevats Goswami, 7.6 ov), 4-62 (Shahbaz Ahmed, 9.3 ov), 5-87 (Manoj Tiwary, 12.4 ov), 6-143 (Anustup Majumdar, 18.2 ov), 7-147 (Arnab Nandi, 18.5 ov), 8-155 (Akash Deep, 19.4 ov) |
Bengal 163/8 after 20 overs: The innings has largely ridden on Kaif Ahmed and fittingly he hits a six off the final ball as Bengal finishes on 163. It has been terrific use of resources by the TN captain Karthik as almost every bowler delivered the goods. Advantage TN at the half-way mark.
Bengal 149/7 after 19 overs: OUT! The Malinga-Bumrah amalgamation is pretty evident as G Periyaswamy has cleaned up the Bengal skipper with a snorter! A slinging yorker crashes onto the stumps. Kaif at the other end scampers for every ball and his partner Nandi runs himself out after failing to keep up with the pace of the death overs. Anustup Majumdar b Periyaswamy 34 (22b 4x4 0x6), Arnab Nandi run out (KB Arun Karthik/Periyaswamy) 1
Bengal 122/5 after 16 overs: Bengal on the move. Skipper Majumdar has come out with an intent to go after the bowlers. His ally Kaif has held one end well. M Mohammed is blown away for three boundaries by Majumdar.
Bengal 90/5 after 13 overs: OUT! The magician Murugan Ashwin comes in for his first over and instantly makes an impact. The leggie bowls a classic googly which slides down past Manoj Tiwary. Tiwary steps down the crease for a brief moment but Karthik makes a quick stumping just in the nick of time! Manoj Tiwary st †KD Karthik b Ashwin 7 (6b 1x4)
12 overs up and skipper Karthik has used only three bowlers so far!
Baba Aparajith 4-0-20-2, Sai Kishore 4-0-28-1, Sandeep Warrier 4-0-30-0
Bengal 68/4 after 10 overs: OUT! A risky run attempted from Shahbaz Ahmed, nevertheless needed a direct hit for a runout. Shahrukh Khan does just that as he hits the stumps from point with a brilliant throw! The misery continues for Bengal in a must-win encounter. Shahbaz Ahmed run out (M Shahrukh Khan) 2
Bengal 54/3 after 8 overs: OUT! Aparajith does it again! Forces the quicker one to Goswami who makes a mistake by moving to saddle the ball on the backfoot. He fails to bring the bat down in time and the ball rattles the stumps. Bengal falls further. Shreevats Goswami b Aparajith 21 (17b 2x4 1x6)
Bengal 44/2 after 6 overs: Sandeep Warrier bowls his third over on the trot and has finally found wanting. Goswami latches onto the Kerala pacer's with two boundaries and another six to finish the Powerplay.
Bengal 33/2 after 5 overs: OUT! Poor judgement from Suvankar Bal. He holes out after initially tearing apart Sai Kishore with a six and a boundary. A needless shot at the instance and Bengal in a spot of bother. Suvankar Bal c Ashwin b Sai Kishore 14 (12b 1x4 1x6)
Bengal 14/1 after 3 overs: OUT! Aparajith cleans up the in-form Vivek Singh with a snorter. Vivek tried to heave the bowl over mid-wicket and misses it completely. Aparajith has got some serious turn on this pitch early on. A good start for TN! Vivek Singh b Aparajith 7 (8b 1x4)
Bengal 6/0 after 1 over: An excellent start from Ashwin. The leggie has immediately extracted turn and Goswami had a tentative start against him after a couple of near misses.

After nearly three hours of fluctuating fortunes, Jharkhand has beaten Hyderabad in a Super Over thriller. Massive props to Anukul Roy, whose unbeaten 13-ball 28 resurrected Jharkhand's flagging chase before it was denied two off the final delivery, forcing a Super Over. Ishan Kishan and Roy, opening the innings for Jharkhand, racked up 23 off six deliveries (2, 6, 1, 6, 6, 2) which ultimately proved to be a winning target.

MATCH ENDS IN A TIE! We have a Super Over on our hands. Anukul Roy and Ishan Kishan set Hyderabad a target of 24. Roy struck a six before Ishan got stuck into the bowler, hammering two back-to-back sixes. Shahbaz Nadeem has successfully defended 24 off six deliveries to hand Jharkhand a thrilling win.
JHARKHAND 89/4 after 15 Overs: Ajay Goud seems to have broken the back of Jharkhand's chase with the wickets of Virat and Utkarsh Singh in the same over. Jharkhand have the experienced Saurabh Tiwary and K R Singh at the crease. The boundaries have dried up for Jharkhand. This has been a terrific fightback from Hyderabad.
JHARKHAND 68/1 after 10 Overs: Ishan Kishan holed out to Tanay Thyagarajan for a 19-ball 27. But his dismissal hasn't deterred Utkarsh Singh, who is growing in confidence as his innings progressed. He has struck four fours so far.
