Our correspondent from Palam reports: Sachin Baby and V A Jagadeesh have stitched a useful partnership and look at ease in the middle. Our correspondent Abhishek Mukherjee reports: It's been an all round bowling effort by Kerala. Sachin baby and Akshay Chandra have taken two wickets each. Basil thampi, the fast bowler, also claimed two wickets. He was instrumental in setting the tone for his team's dominant showing. However, despite his loose deliveries that prompted Sumanth and Ravi Teja to find momentum, s. Mithun the off-spinner turned out to be the most successful bowler, with three wickets. Had it not been for the recovery act by Sumanth and Ravi Teja, Andhra would have folded quickly. The two added 96 runs for the fifth wicket and just when it seemed they would smartly accelerate towards the end, Sumanth departed in the 46th over.

The batsmen are showing more urgency and enterprise now that the innings is getting to a close. That Andhra has not lost another wicket could be attributed to Sumanth's well paced innings and the loose deliveries by Sachin Baby among others that has allowed the batsmen to regain some confidence. In attempting a belligerent stroke, Sumanth perishes. He tries to smash Mithun but gets an outside edge and is caught by the diving gully fielder. Sumanth is out for 78. Karn Sharma and Girinath Reddy follows him immediately after to the bowling off Sachin Baby! Andhra 182/7 in 46.3 overs

Not a great start for Manipur's batsmen as they fold for 120. Puducherry's Rex RK (3 for 7) and Bishworjit (2 for 10) with the standout figures.

Breakthrough for Himachal as the bowling change does the trick. Kaushik dismisses the well-settled Yuvraj Singh for 48 (41) and the 102-run partnership with Shubman comes to an end. Punjab 219/3 in 41 overs.

Hello and welcome to the LIVE updates of all the matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Indian cricket will embark on a journey into the unknown as the one-day championship for the Vijay Hazare Trophy starts with 37 teams, including six states from the North East, looking to carve their own identity.

Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Sikkim along with Uttarakhand and Puducherry will make their debut in senior representative (List A) cricket.

For Bihar, it will be a comeback into the mainstream after being left in the lurch for 18 years, and the jury is still out on how far-reaching the implications of the Supreme Court appointed Lodha Committee’s recommendations will be.

All the new teams have been slotted in group D, from which one team will make it to the quarterfinals.
