Saurashtra's will look for another win against Madhya Pradesh after it won against Hyderabad by seven wickets on Sunday.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar 's LIVE updates from Wednesday's action of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19.

Our reporter Abhishek Mukherjee from Airforce Complex, Palam 'B' ground in New Delhi, will be sending periodic updates.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Odisha beats Delhi by 9 runs to pocket first win. Half-centuries from Govinda Poddar, Biplab Samantray and Subhransu Senapati gave Odisha a fighting total of 249. The visitors then picked up wickets at regular intervals to keep Delhi at bay. Although Subodh Bhati made a fighting unbeaten 42, Odisha did well to defend 18 in the last over and pocket four vital points.

  • Baroda beats Karnataka by 7 wickets. Kedar Devdhar scored a fine century and Deepak Hooda with an unbeaten 62 ensured Baroda pockets four crucial points.

  • Delhi requires 18 runs in the final over.

  • Meanwhile at Alur, Himachal rode on Ankush Bains' unbeaten 173 to pip Vidarbha by 4 wickets.

  • Subodh Bhati is keeping Delhi in the hunt with some fine hitting. Delhi needs 26 runs to win in 11 deliveries.

  • Mizoram beats Sikkim by 42 runs.

  • Our correspondent updates from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: Waiting for the final rites after a sharp batting collapse effectively ended the contest. Left arm spinner Pappu Roy took wickets to peg back Delhi. A run-out to send Himmat Singh packing didn't help either. It's 194/9 in 44 overs. Target: 250.

  • Andhra beats Chhattisgarh by two wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

  • Karn Sharma falls for a well made 55 but Andhra needs just one run to win.

  • Fifty for Karn Sharma and Andhra needs just 4 runs now.

  • D.B. Ravi Teja falls immediately after scoring his fifty but Andhra is in touching distance. It needs just 14 runs to beat Chhattisgarh and has three wickets in hand.

  • Century for Kedar Devdhar! He has anchored Baroda's run chase and has played his part with a brilliant ton. However, he would ideally want to seal the deal and carry his bat through.

  • Deepak Hooda has scored a fine fifty in 58 deliveries to keep Baroda's run chase intact.

  • Simarjeet Singh walks back to the hut for 5 (15 balls) as Delhi faces a probable defeat at 174/9 in 38.5 overs, chasing Odisha's 249.

  • Five wickets for Bihar's Samar Quadri!  He castles Meghalaya's Lakhan Singh for 0. Meghalaya folds for 103. Bihar wins by 108 runs. Quadri returns with figures of 9.5-1-22-5.

  • Akshay Wakhare strikes. Himachal Pradesh's S.L Verma departs for 12 (23 balls), caught by J.M. Sharma. Himachal Pradesh 240/4 in 39.3 overs , chasing Vidarbha's 297.

  • Delhi in a spot of bother now on 167/8 in 35.3 overs. Manan Sharma is castled by Deepak Behera for 17 (31 balls).

  • Bihar's Samar Quadri sizzles with the ball with figures of 8-1-20-4. His latest victim is Mark Ingty, trapped infront for 1 run. Meghalaya loses its 8th wicket for 100 in 39 overs , chasing Bihar's 212.

  • Delhi slips to 163/7 in 34.2 overs as Lalit Yadav is out for 25 (28 balls), caught by Sujit Lenka off Pappu Roy. Delhi is chasing Odisha's 249.

  • Girinath Reddy departs next to leave Andhra at 160/6 in 40.4 overs , chasing 249. Girinath is run-out for 5 (5 balls).

  • A run-out now hurts Delhi. Himmat Singh is run-out for 7 (11 balls) as the Delhi ship is wobbling at 124/6 in 26 overs , chasing 249 against Odisha.

  • Meghalaya loses half its side for just 78 on the board, chasing 212 to win against Bihar. Yogesh Nagar is the fifth wicket to fall for 22 (39 balls), trapped LBW by Ashutosh Aman.

  • P.S. Khanduri is dismissed for a well compiled 63 (84 balls, 4x4), caught by A. Thakare off A. Wakhare. Himachal Pradesh 180/2 in 30.4 overs, chasing 298 to win against Vidarbha.

  • Our correspondent updates from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: It's still anyone's contest here after 24 overs, as Odisha has checked Delhi's progress by claiming the wickets of the set Gautam Gambhir and Rishabh Pant. The captain looked in control throughout his innings barring a delivery from seamer Prayash Singh that rattled his stumps. It was a reprieve for Gambhir as Prayash had bowled a no-ball. Gambhir didn't last long, however. He was trapped lbw by spinner Anurag Sarangi when he tried to turn the ball through leg. It arrived just after Pant had struck back-to-back sixes off Prayash, the second one a more disdainful stroke as he came down the wicket. Even after Gambhir's dismissal, Pant carried on in the same vein. He reverse-swept left-arm spinner Pappu Roy for a boundary and then slog swept him for six. The ball disappeared beyond the boundary wall on the leg side. The promising Pant also eventually departed before reaching half century. He fell to seamer Biplab Samantaray.

  • A cameo from Rishabh Pant comes to an end. Pant is out for 39 (33 balls, 3x4, 3x6), caught by Sujit Lenka off Biplab Samantaray. Delhi 122/5 in 24.1 overs, chasing Odisha's 249.

  • Ricky Bhui is the next to go back to the hut for Andhra. He is out for 27 (38 balls), bowled by Pankaj Rao. Andhra 124/4 in 32.1 overs , chasing Chhatisgarh's 248.

  • K. Pandya is out for 19 (32 balls), caught by Shreyas Gopal off K. Gowtham as Baroda is 90/2 in 19.3 overs , chasing Karnataka's 237.

  • Meghalaya is 3 down for 29 against Bihar. R.R. Biswa is out for 14 (38 balls), stumped by Vikash Ranjan off Samar Quadri.

  • Andhra loses its first wicket. Ashwin Hebbar is castled by Sumit Ruikar for 53 (68 balls, 8x4, 1x6). Andhra 70/1 in 18.4 overs , chasing 249 against Chhatisgarh.

  • Delhi in a spot of bother now. Dhruv Shorey departs for a duck (4 balls), caught by Sujit Lenka off Suryakant Pradhan as Delhi reeling at 24/2 in 4.5 overs .

  • Our correspondent updates from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: "Some frantic run making in the end gets Odisha to 249/9 in its 48 overs . Much of the acceleration was done by Samantaray and Senapati, who reached his half-century with a six over the covers in the final over. Samantaray was the first to reach the landmark in this period. After ensuring the drudgery against the spinners, he targeted the pacers. In an expensive 45th over, he sliced Navdeep Saina for a six, the went after Subodh bhati with a six over cow corner. He dished out the same treatment to Negi in the penultimate over. Bhati's full tosses in the final over made it easy for the batsman as Senapati hit another six over the mid-wicket before his partner was caught at long-off. The final score completed a slow recovery for Odisha. It remains to be seen whether the target will the test of might of Delhi's batsmen."

  • Samarth is the last man to fall for 102 off 125 balls (4x8), Karnataka all out for 237 after losing its last three wickets in the span of three runs. Baroda pacer Atit Sheth claims 4-42.

  • Bihar finishes its 50 overs on 211/9 against Meghalaya; Mizoram finishes on 252/6 against Sikkim with Taruwar Kohli scoring 113 off 126 balls; Odisha finishes on 249/4 in 48 overs with Subhranshu Senapati playing a cameo (59 off 50 balls).

  • End of innings:Vidarbha finishes on 297/7 , Atharva Taide leading the batting tally with a brilliant 148 off 145 balls. Himachal needs 298 to win.

  • Samarth reaches his 100 in 121 balls — an innings studded with seven hits to the fence as Karnataka reaches 232/7 .

  • End of innings: Maharashtra has restricted Railways to a modest 180 , C. Sakure the last man to fall.

  • Vishal Singh is out first ball, caught by Ravi Teja off Shoaib Mohammed. Chhatisgarh wobbling at 210/6 in 44.2 overs against Andhra Pradesh.

  • Our correspondent updates from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: As off-spinner Lalit Yadav completes his sixth over, the period of graft and consolidation enters the business end. Or at least, that is what must be the plan among Odisha's batsmen as they look to pile on a big total on a decent batting track here. Poddar's wicket notwithstanding, it has been a smooth ride for the side for much of the last hour. Singles have been gained by drives along the ground, and nudges through leg. When Poddar attempted to change the ambience a bit, going for a slog sweep off Nitish Rana, he pays the price. The ball sneaked through and he is dismissed bowled for 56. Rana has bowled his quota of 10 overs, giving away 32 runs. It is suggestive of the quietness of the period. It remains to be seen when Biplab Samantaray and Subhranshu Senapati decide to shift gears. It's 161/3 in 38 overs .

  • Karn Sharma sends the centurion Ashutosh Singh back. The batsman is out for 110 (125 balls, 8x4, 2x6), caught by Ayyappa Bandaru. Chhatisgarh 209/5 in 44 overs .

  • M.G. Naveen is dismissed for 2 (7 balls) by B.A. Pathan as Karnataka in a spot of bother at 167/5 in 39.1 overs .

  • Apoorv Wankhade is run out for no score as Vidarbha slips to 213/4 in 39 overs against Himachal Pradesh.

  • Ashutosh Singh gets to the three-figure mark! He has scored 100 off 116 balls with eight fours and one six. Chhatisgarh 185/4 against Andhra Pradesh.

  • Railways in a spot of bother now. S.M. Kazi sends Ashish Yadav back for 30 (36 balls). Railways 144/7 in 38 overs .

  • Karnataka loses its fourth wicket. B.A. Pathan sends C.M. Gautam back to the hut for 13 (31 balls). Karnataka 160/4 in 37.2 overs against Baroda.

  • Jaydev Unadkat puts Saurashtra in a position of strength. He castles Anshul Tripathi for 24 (30 balls) as Madhya Pradesh slips to 103/6 in 36.2 overs .

  • Manipur in dire straits . It has been bowled out for 125 in 37.4 overs . Yashpal Singh is out for well compiled 76 (120 balls, 6x4, 2x6), caught by Vineet Saxena off Sunny and the bowler cleans up Bishworjit the next ball to signal the end of the innings.

  • Mizoram loses its fourth wicket. Mikal is run out for 9, off 25 balls. Mizoram 133/4 in 36 overs against Sikkim .

  • Govinda Poddar scores a 50. He gets to the landmark in 67 balls (5 fours) as Odisha moves to 125/2 .

  • Faiz Fazal misses his 100 by an agonising nine runs , he's out for 91(97) as Himachal Pradesh finally manage to break what was turning out to be an intimidating partnership: Vidarbha 185/2

  • Update from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: Having been set and confident, when he looked good to make a big score, Dhuper gets out against the run of play to the left-arm spinner Manan Sharma. In the same over, he had looked imperious when he executed the first lofted stroke of the day, towards extra cover, for a six. It seemed a soft dismissal; he played all round a delivery that struck his thigh, and he was adjudged lbw.

Poddar and Biplab Samantaray have not been as enterprising since. As the fielding restrictions relaxed - with three players positioned in the outfield - they have nudged and driven the spinners whenever they could, without showing any urgency.

It seems a good batting track, and under the warm sun, all the moisture from the rain-laden few days may be evaporating nicely for the batsmen to make hay.

    It's 112/2 after 24 overs.

  • Yashpal Singh is running out of partners, quickly. Manipur has lost three wickets for just 15 runs. It is now 108/8.

  • Meanwhile, Vidarbha is 150/1 in 28.3 Overs. Fail Fazal batting on 74, and A. Taide giving him company on 71. Himachal Pradesh staring at a huge total here, unless they can break this partnership in the next few overs!

  • Swapnil Singh with the all important wicket of Karun Nair. Nair departs for 37, Karnataka 116/3.

  • D.A. Jadeja wreaking havoc with the ball as he picks up two in a space of three deliveries . Naman Ojha 5(25) the last batsman to get out, Madhya Pradesh struggling at 64/5.

  • Yashpal Singh waging a lone battle for Manipur; the veteran has brought up his 50 in 74 balls. Manipur is 93/5.

  • Karnataka has brought up its 100 in 23.2 Overs, thanks to Samarth and Nair, who've steadied the innings after the early dismissals of Reddy and Mayank Agarwal.

  • Elsewhere, Railways in all sorts against Maharashtra. It is four down for 54 , with Mrunal Devdhar 31(58) and Prashant Awasthi 10(23) holding fort.

  • Update from Airforce Complex, Palam'B' ground: Rajesh Dhuper and Govinda Poddar have made hay against the fast bowlers, stroking them for boundaries whenever the opportunity arose. The duo dealt in drives and the occasional pull to garner runs in this early period in the contest.

It hadn't begun well for Odisha, however. Simranjeet Singh had Anurag sarangi wafting at a delivery outside off, and edging to slips.

There have been few plays and misses since. The body language of both batsmen exudes confidence.

    After 12 overs, it's 61/1.

  • After 20 overs, Karnataka is 84/2. R Samarth is batting on 27(47) and Karun Nair on 22(31)
