Gujarat Giants’ Dayalan Hemalatha has received medical treatment after the ball hit her head while fielding. Sayali Satghare has been named concussion sub. 

Radha Yadav with her left arm spin. Veda paddle sweeps on the second ball and finds the fence. OUT! Veda is gone. Cuts it straight backward point. Easy catch.

Shikha continues. Mooney flicks towards midwicket for a double. Follows it up with a four down the ground. Just past the mid-off fielder. And another four! This time cut past short third. Beautiful timing. And another boundary!! This time Litchfield takes the aerial route over cover. 15 runs from the over. 

Sadhu concedes a run on her eighth ball as Litchfield hits it straight towards the bowler. A dropped catch but was coming very fast. SIX! Litchfield comes down the track and smacks the ball straight over the bowler for a maximum. Attempts a ramp shot on the next ball, but misses. Four to end the over. Short ball, Litchfield pulls it beautifully towards square leg. 

Shikha Pandey from the other end. Still no run in eight balls. OUT!! What a ball. Inswinger and the leg stump is uprooted. She nearly missed on the previous ball when it just went past the stump. This time it hit.

Titas Sadhu opens the bowling for Delhi. Mooney and Wolvaardt open the innings. Two dot balls to begin with. Brilliant start, right on the money. No runs in four balls. Mooney isn’t able to time the ball. Maiden! 

Meghna to bowl the last over. Single on the first ball. Another one run added on the next. Shikha Pandey creates room and drives the ball past covers for four. Plays a ramp shot on the next ball to get another boundary! Brilliant hit that. Dropped on the fifth ball. Once again created room to hit over covers but not enough elevation. Fielder can’t grab it. Single. Radha Yadav attempts a sweep on the last ball, misses it and is given out. She takes a review. Three reds.

OUT! Jemimah’s struggling stay at the crease comes to an end. Charges against Mannat, gets a thick outside edge straight to short third.

Wow, brilliant way to get to fifty by Lanning. On the pads and just a flick of the wrist, slightly in the air, and helped by a misfield in the deep, gets a boundary. Width by Meghna and Lanning hits it over cover point. Impressive effort but can’t stop the boundary. OUT! Lanning departs. Full and wide, Lanning slashes it but straight to cover point.

Gardner is back. Jemimah attempts a sweep but misses it. Ball bounces too much and hits her on the helmet. Wait.. Giants have reviewed it. Impact outside. Not out. Lanning once again pulls a short ball towards backward square leg for four. Lanning finishes the over with another boundary!

Lanning dropped! Came down the track and hit the ball straight to mid-off but Bryce there couldn’t hold on to it. No reaction by Mannat the bowler. Lanning then attempts a paddle sweep, Mooney anticipates but gets too left and misses the ball. Double. Lanning finishes the over with a boundary. Eventful over. 

Tarannum Pathan the debutant into the attack. Lanning punishes the overpitch ball for a SIX over long off. 10 runs from the over. 

And suddenly there’s a drop in the boundary scoring from Delhi. Bryce is still making the ball swing into the right handers. Five runs off the over. 

Mannat Kashyap into the attack. Jemimah is the new batter in. Just two singles in the first five balls. Only three runs off it. 

Capsey continues her attacking intent. Ramps Meghana over the wicketkeeper for four! Brilliant shot. OUT! Capsey is gone. Tries to slash hard but ends up hitting straight to backward point. DC loses its second wicket.

Kanwer is back and Capsey charges down the track and hits her straight for four! After two dot balls, Capsey gets another boundary as she slashes hard past backward point. 10 runs off the over. 

Ashleigh Gardner into the attack. Capsey welcomes her with a cut past cover point for four! Another short ball and this time Lanning pulls it towards square leg boundary to end the over. 

Meghana Singh into the attack now. Intent is there but Lanning and Shafali unable to pierce the gap. OUT! Shafali hits it straight to square leg. On the pads, Shafali flicks it straight to the fielder inside the circle.

Shafali gets going with a first ball four towards square leg. Overpitch and Shafali picks it straight over the bowler’s head for a SIX! Brilliant clean strike that. On the next ball, Shafali almost chips it straight to the bowler. Replays show, Tanwer actually dropped it. How costly will that be?

Gujarat Giants’ Harleen Deol and Sneh Rana ruled out for today’s fixture. Minnu Mani and Marizanne Kapp miss out in Delhi Capitals’ camp. 

Mayank from the ground zero says today’s game will be played on pitch number five - the one on which the first two games were played. Which means leg-side boundary from the pavillion end is short - 48 m, while the off-side boundary is 61 m long. No grass cover on the pitch. 

The WPL 2023 finalist, DC has won two out of three games this season, while the Giants have slumped to three consecutive losses, languishing at the bottom of the points table.

The WPL 2023 finalist, DC, has won two out of three games this season, while the Giants have slumped to three consecutive losses, languishing at the bottom of the points table.

Last season, both teams beat each other. Delhi Capitals first beat Gujarat by 10 wickets. Then Giants defeated Delhi by 11 runs. 

The Women’s Premier League 2024 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants will be telecasted on the Sports18 network. The match can also be live streamed via the Jio Cinema app and website.
