MATCH REPORT |

Germany now moves into second above Portugal with France still on top. Things are set up well for the final matchday of the season when Portugal takes on France and Germany plays hosts to Hungary.

Not many would have seen that coming before kick off. Germany is back in contention with a big comeback win over the reigning champion. Portugal went ahead against the run of play through its skipper Ronaldo but Germany's dominance was rewarded with two goals in the space of five minutes to go ahead before the break. Germany came out with the same momentum in the second period to add two more well-worked out goals to give itself a big lead.

FULL-TIME

90'+4' Poor from Kroos and Rudiger as they dwaddle on the ball which allows Ronaldo the chance on the break. He feeds Silva, whose sot is blocked by Ginter for a corner.

90+2' Just less than two minutes of added time left for Germany to hold on to the second place in thr Group.

Four minutes of added time.

90' Ronaldo dribbles the ball out of play near the byline and its draws one of the loudest cheers from the Allianz Arena today.

90' Renato Sanches is frustrated with a decision going against his favour. He thumps the ball against the advertising boarding. No booking though.

89' CHANCE! A ball is floated into the box where an unmarked Pepe heads it back towards the face of the goal but unfortunately for him, its Rudiger who gets on the end of it and clears it away.

88' Important interception from Sule to cut the cross from Semedo on the right side from insdie the box.

87' GERMANY SUB: Gnabry OFF, Sane ON

82' Germany with a spell of posession to gain some control in the midfield area.

78' Renato Sanches with a thunderbolt from distance! He ends up thumping the ball against the post! My word that all happened in a blink of an eye. Neuer, like me, could hardly react as the ball crashed against the post.

77' Ginter is booked for a sliding challenge on Jota where he cleans him up. Ginter is booked by Anthony Taylor.

76' Germany on the break with Muller after Neuer with a superb pickout from the back to Goretzka. Muller looks to feed Goretzka behind the defence but the pass is overhit.

54' Ronaldo lines up a freekick from distance. He strikes it well and with power but he can't keep it down as the ball sails over the bar.

How instrumental has Gosens been to Germany's attack.. Portugal hasn't found a way to check his runs into the its penalty box.

51' GOAL! Portugal 1-3 Germany! (Havertz goal) And Havertz gets his goal. Germany carved Portugals' defence open with that move from right to left; Muller feeding Gosens free down the byline and his cutback finds Havertz, who taps the ball into the net.

11' Havertz brings the ball down superbly but the ball gets away from him after the first touch and is fouled in the process.
