120+2’

HFC sub: IN- Reagan OUT- Poojary.

120+1’

Chance- ATKMB had a last chance to score a winner. Kotal had a chance to grab the perfect captain’s goal but his header from Gallego’s corner is wide.

119’

Liston tries to hit the spinning ball first-time but ends up botching his effort. That wasn’t the best decision by him.

118’

HFC sub: IN- Hitesh OUT- Tavora.

117’

A disappointing night end of the night for Sahil Tavora as he is carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

115’

Danu sends a low cross inside the ATKMB box but it is a poor delivery as the ball goes straight to Kaith.

113’

ATKMB sub: IN- Hamill OUT- McHugh

109’

It is now or never for either teams. Maybe that is why we are seeing ATKMB players resorting to a more pro-active approach in the second-period. This is not allowing HFC to slow down the game. The Mariners want to finish this match before penalties at home.

105’

HFC sub: IN- Rabeeth OUT- Yasir

EXTRA-TIME SECOND PERIOD!!

The second period of extra-time between ATK Mohun Bagan and Hyderabad FC kicks-off at the Salt Lake Stadium.

105’

The first period of extra-time comes to an end. If 15 minutes of football cannot separate these two, then we would see a second ISL semifinal shootout this season.

105’

Gallego swings a pinpoint ball towards Colaco inside the box but Poojary did not allow Colaco to get his shot away with some brilliant defending.

101’

Both teams with a chance to catch each other out with a break but the final third passing was disappointing. The first period almost over.

98’

Close- Hnamte goes for goal with a curling effort from miles out and almost scores. Gurmeet might have had that covered but one can never be too sure what would have happened if the shot was on target.

96’

Liston with ample time and space to find a teammate but he holds on to the ball for too long and ends up losing possession after being put under pressure.

92’

As expected, ATKMB is enjoying a lot of the ball inside its own-half because HFC is not interested in pressing. Those legs are tired out there. Marquez’s men are forcing the Mariners to go long.

86’

HFC sub: IN- Siverio OUT- Chianese

81’

Close- It is a super delivery by Petratos inside the HFC box from a freekick. Damjanovic was favourite to get to the ball and tried his best to make contact. But, he could do so as the ball went out for a goalkick.

80’

Booking: Glan Martins sees a yellow card for his late challenge on Joao Victor.

Akash Mishra makes a very good run and carries the ball a long way inside the ATKMB box. Just as he looked to find a pass or shoot, he clatters into his former teammate, Asish Rai.

74’

Manvir’s cross inside the box fids Gallego but the latter could not judge the trajectory of the ball. Ideally, he should have gone with his head, but his extra touch leads to him losing the ball.

73’

ATKMB subs: IN- Gallego OUT- Boumous

72’

Hyderabad had a very good chance to make Kaith work from a freekick but Yasir’s shot is disappointing as the ball goes out of play.

64’

Chianese tries to find Borja inside the box with a searching cross. Borja ran at full-speed to meet the cross but Asish bravely stood his ground to clear the ball. Borja and Asish are involved in an ugly clash of heads and stay down.

They are okay to continue for some medical attention. That is good to see.

62’

Asish Rai crosses first time into the HFC box. The ball finds Manvir who tries to flick the ball into the back of the net. But, he gets too much purchase on it and Odei is there to cover and clear the danger.

57’

Asish Rai finds Hugo Boumous with a wonderful cross from the right flank. The cross was crying out for a first-time finish and Boumous obliged. However, Gurmeet does well to stand his ground and make the save.

54’

Chianese and Yasir involved in some wonderful link-up play. Yasir tries to find Ogbeche inside the box with a lobbed cross but the ball does not reach the Nigerian forward.

51’

Booking: Joel Chianese sees a yellow card. The reason is not clear as of now. It is most probably because he entered the field of play without the referee’s permission.

49’

Joel Chianese has a problem and play has currently stopped as he receives medical attention.

Replay shows that Glan Martins had elbowed him while defending a HFC corner, which has led to a nosebleed for Chianese.

47’

Halicharan goes for a first-time cross inside the box. It is not the best cross but Subhasish takes no risk and sends the ball out for a corner.

46’

ATKMB sub: IN- Colaco OUT- Kiyan.

SECOND-HALF!!

The second-half kicks-off with the match score and the aggregate score between ATK Mohun Bagan and Hyderabad FC level at 0-0.

Hyderabad builds an attack patiently- Borja tries to thread a ball to Halicharan on the left flank but his pass cut out well by Asish.

41’

Petratos’ driving cross towards Manvir has too much on it and the ball goes out for a HFC goalkick.

37’

Glan Martins unlocks the defence with a long ball to Kiyan on the left side of the box. Kiyan tries to get the better of his marker, Yasir but the Hyderabad player sticks to his man and forces him to put the ball outside play.

34’

ATKMB has been disciplined with their defending as of now. Even if Hyderabad gets the ball, it is not being able to find any openings.

31’

Akash does well to find Halicharan on the left flank. Halicharan tries to find a teammate by squaring the ball to the middle but it is a weak pass and the Mariners regain possession.

26’

Yasir finds Halicharan with a lucky ball after Asish Rai misses the interception. Halicharan goes for goal with a shot from the edge of the box but his effort is nowhere near the target.

23’

Off the post- Manvir cuts into his favourite left foot and lashes a shot at Gurmeet’s goal. The ball rattles the crossbar and comes back into play. Gurmeet had no chance of stopping that.

22’

21’

Glan Martins shows his shooting abilities by going for goal from an ambitious distance. His shot fizzes past a diving Gurmeet and misses the target by inches.

19’

Subhasish pings a pin-point cross inside the box from the left flank. Manvir jumps and gets a header away but the effort is weak and goes straight to Gurmeet.

18’

Kiyan does well to snatch the ball from Poojary in a physical battle, but loses the ball in his attempted one-two with Boumous.

17’

Chianese looked to get a cross inside the box but Kotal rushes in to make the interception. That is really good defending from the ATKMB centre-back.

14

Borja with a brilliant chance to shoot at goal after being played inside the box by Chianese. But, he tries to shift the ball to his favourite left foot and loses possession to Asish.

13’

We are almost done with the first quarter of the match but neither team has posed any considerably threat on goal till now.

10’

Yasir cut in on his left and had players for support. But, he decides to shoot himself from distance. His shot is blocked and rolls to Kaith for an easy collect by the ATKMB keeper.

6’

There is a thick layer of smoke engulfing the Salt Lake Stadium, which is not making the proceedings absolutely clear. A chance of committing a mistake is high in these conditions.

5’

Bart Ogbeche cannot control the ball properly but the ball sat up nicely for Borja. Borja goes for a first-time shot from distance but his effort blazes over Kaith’s goal.

3’

ATKMB has dominated play in these opening minutes. Hyderabad yet to find their footing. The Mariners are backed by a strong home crowd.

1’

Kiyan makes an early run and Petratos spots it. Kiyan would have had a clear shot at goal but Poojary was there to make the block.

PREVIEW

ATK Mohun Bagan will be looking at a boisterous home support for the necessary incendiary when it meets holder Hyderabad FC with the target of a win in the second leg of the Indian Super League (ISL) semifinals, at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Monday.

The host would be looking to make the most of the slight advantage it gained by holding Hyderabad to a goalless draw away from home in the first leg.

A win for either of the two opponents will secure a final spot provided a result is secured in the regulation time (90 minutes). Otherwise, extra-time and penalty shoot-outs could decide the winner. The contest in all likelihood will be keenly fought as two of the most formidable defences in the tournament take guard. This was very much the reason why the first leg encounter ended goalless.

After a mediocre performance in the second phase of the league stage, the ATK Mohun Bagan appears to have turned the corner in the play-offs. The Mariners managed to keep a cleansheet in their last three games and also enjoy the record of winning eight out of 11 home games.

This is contrasted against the fantastic away record of Hyderabad FC. The visitor has the second-best away record this season. The defending champion has lost just two out of ten games on the road and has kept cleansheets in three out of their last four games. This makes for an interesting clash even though ATKMB will be taking heart from the 1-0 win it recorded against the same opponent at home in the first phase of the league.

“Our mentality for this game is to play like it is a final and play to win in 90 minutes. In the first leg, Hyderabad had more rest compared to us, but now, we will be in the same situation,” said the ATKMB coach Juan Ferrando. The ATKMB coach will be hoping that his attack with Dimitri Petratos, Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco and Hugo Boumous will be delivering the goods.

“The mood in the camp is good. They have a very strong squad and we managed to control their players really well. Tactically, we were very good in the first leg,” said the Hyderabad FC coach Manolo Marquez. “They are more comfortable at home, but we are a very good team whether we play home or away because we don’t make a lot of changes,” he added.
