Marc Marquez believes that his relationship with Valentino Rossi has become "professional" again a year on from their clash at the 2015 Malaysian Moto GP.

Yamaha's Rossi caused a storm just before the Sepang event, as he suggested Marquez had joined forces with fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo at the Australian GP in order to help the latter win the title.

Marquez and Rossi then clashed during the race following Marquez's vehement denial, with the Italian taking on a starting penalty as a result Lorenzo ultimately clinched the championship.

The pair's relationship had seemingly evaporated, but as Malaysia prepares to host the even again, standings leader Marquez feels things are not quite as strained as they once were.

"Of course, the relationship has been changed a little bit," the Repsol Honda driver said in Sepang. "But now it becomes better, at minimum we have a professional relationship. Nothing else. It's one year after, but it's the same situation, the same opinions [of what happened], I think."
