Arena by Transstadia in race for Stadium of the Year award

The seven-floor, Rs. 550 crore facility, built on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model, made its debut with the Kabaddi World Cup in 2016.

The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad has become the first Indian stadium to  be nominated for the title of 'Stadium of the Year'.

The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad has become the first Indian stadium to  be nominated for the title of 'Stadium of the Year' by  StadiumDB.com and Stadiony.net.

The seven-floor, Rs. 550 crore facility, built on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model, made its debut with the Kabaddi World Cup in 2016. The state-of-the-art multi-sport infrastructure will face competition from Mercedes-Benz Arena (Atlanta, USA), Wanda Metropolitano (Madrid, Spain) and stadiums of the 2018 World Cup in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Last year, the award went to Istanbul Vodafone Park in Beşiktaş, making it the first ever Turkish stadium to be bestowed with the honour.
