SWEET REVENGE! Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals gave Mumbai Indians a taste of their own medicine in their massive nine-wicket win over Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. on Monday.
The last time Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians met, their first ever clash in WPL history, Mumbai thrashed Delhi by eight wickets. Delhi couldn’t afford a loss this time around with direct entry into the final on offer.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s poor luck with tosses continued, with the MI skipper losing her seven in seven so far. Lanning opted to bowl to allow the side a target to chase. Harman spoke about the batting unit taking more responsibility, almost foreshadowing what was to follow.
Marizanne Kapp’s remarkable form with the ball continued as she removed Yastika Bhatia and Nat Sciver-Brunt in a stingy bowling performance. She conceded just 13 runs in her four overs.
