Soumya Gupta stayed in contention for a berth in the final of women’s trap in the Junior World Cup shooting with a score of 57 out of 75, after three rounds in Sydney on Wednesday.

Soumya had a series of 19, 18 and 20 which placed her in the sixth place, six points away from the leader Zhang Ting of China. The two other Indian girls Manisha Keer (49) and Kirti Gupta (47) struggled with low scores and languished at the bottom in a field of 13, with two more rounds to go before the top-six compete in the final.
