Thane's Deepit Patil stunned fifth seed Raegan Albuquerque of Mumbai Suburban District to enter the youth boys' (under-21) quarterfinals of the Bombay YMCA State Ranking Table Tennis tournament, which got underway at the University Pavilion, Marine Lines, on Monday.
Patil won 15-13, 7-11, 12-10, 8-11, 13-11, 14-12.
Top seed Siddhesh Pande of Thane survived a scare from MSD's Hrishikesh Malhotra before winning a nail-biting seven-game tie 12-10, 11-6, 10-12, 6 11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5.
