Yuki Bhambri beat Stefano Napolitano of Italy 7-5, 6-2 in the first round of the $75,000 Challenger men’s tennis tournament in China on Wednesday.
In the pre-quarterfinals, Yuki will play Nikola Milojevic of Serbia. The other Indian Davis Cupper in action, Ramkumar Ramanathan lost in three sets in the third and final qualifying round of the $150,000 Challenger in the U.S.
The Indian duo of Divij Sharan and Purav Raja knocked out the second seeds Brian Baker and Nicholas Monroe of the US for a 3-6, 7-6(3), 10-5 victory.
