Sania Mirza and her regular tour partner Barbara Strycova defeated Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-1, 6-2 in 51 minutes to make the final of Apia International in Sydney on Thursday.
This is Mirza's first tournament with Strycova this season. She had partnered USA's Bethanie Mattek-Sands to win the Brisbane International last week.
The Indo-Czech top seeds will face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia and Timea Babos of Hungary in the summit clash. Pavlyuchenkova-Babos defeated Andreja Klepac and MarJosartz Shez 6-3, 6-4 in the other semifinal.
Meanwhile, Leander Paes and his Brazilian partner Andre Sa were knocked out in the quarterfinals by Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner 6-3, 7-6(4) at the Auckland Classics.
The Indo-Brazilian pair had knocked out the top seeds Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi the previous day.
