Bengaluru Raptors vs North Eastern Warriors

Kim Ha Na and Liao Min Chun wrap up the mixed doubles and last match of the evening in straight games 15-11, 15-9. But not enough as Bengaluru Raptors wins the tie 4-3.

 

The last match of the tie is mixed doubles. Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith of the Raptors clash against Kim Ha Na and Liao Min Chun.

Sai Praneeth seals the tie for Bengaluru Raptors with a 12-15, 15-6, 15-7. The last match, whatsoever, will be an inconsequential one.

 

7-3: Praneeth extends the lead over Tian with forehand smash from back of the baseline. A great comeback from one game down.

15-6: Praneeth swings back to force the match into the decider.

8-3: A big lead for Sai Praneeth at the break of the second game. Can Tian manage a comeback?

 

Next up is the men's singles where Sai Praneeth of Raptors takes on Tian Houwei.

15-7:Saina was relentless after the break as she wins the Trump match 15-10, 15-7. The Warriors back in the Tie after this win.

8-6: Saina Nehwal goes into the interval of the second game with a two-point lead. Won't be a cruise for Saina as expected after her dominance in the first game.

15-10: Brilliant stuff from Saina as she runs away with the first game. She looks in top form and a comeback fromm Vu looks difficult.

 

The Trump match of North Eastern Warriors starts as Saina Nehwal takes on T.T. Vu of the Raptors.

12-9: Tanongsak giving a tough fight but Srikanth manages to stay ahead. The Indian shuttler is moving well, especially his game at the net.

That was some rally as both shuttlers take break, with Srikanth trailing 7-8 in the second game.

 

15-11: Srikanth is now one game up in the second match.

11-6: Dominating start by Srikanth in the first game as he now holds a five-point lead over Tanongsak.

The second match of the tie is men's singles where Raptors' Kidambi Srikanth will take on Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk.

15-11: The second game is done with Setiawan and Ahsan winning it 15-11. Bengaluru Raptors now lead 2-0 after its win in the Trump match.

14-11: The Raptors turn the table as Setiawan's smash takes them one point away from match point.

 

5-6: The start to the second game is also not different, again closely being contested with the Raptors having a one-point lead.

A trump match for the Bengaluru Raptors as the tie kicks off with men's doubles. Bengaluru's pair of Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan up against Liao Min Chun and Yoo Yeon Seong of the Warriors.

We are almost there for the start of the second tie of the evening between Bengaluru Raptors and North Eastern Warriors.

 

The second match of the night pits the Saina Nehwal-led North Eastern Warriors against Kidambi Srikanth-led Bengaluru Raptors.

 

15-10 Lee Yong Dae/Kim Gi Jung (Mumbai Rockets) win the second game and with it the match against Chung Chin/Sumeeth Reddy (Chennai Smashers).

15-8 Lee Yong Dae/Kim Gi Jung (Mumbai Rockets) win the first game comfortably.

8-3 Mumbai Rockets' pair takes a five-point lead into the mid-game break in the first.

Next up is the men's doubles match between Lee Yong Dae/Kim Gi Jung (Mumbai Rockets) and Chung Chin/Sumeeth Reddy (Chennai Smashers).

 

9-15 Sameer Verma wins the second game and with it the tie for Mumbai Rockets.

5-12 Sameer Verma is on course to give Chennai Smashers an unassailable 4-0 lead in the tie.

4-8 Sameer Verma has made the most of the momentum from winning the second game. He takes a four-point lead into the mid-game break in the second.

13-15 Sameer Verma fights back to win the second game by two points. We go into a deciding third game.

 

9-8 Sameer Verma's fighting back here. Kashyap has a chance to get Chennai Smashers on board if he wins this match.

15-12 Parupalli Kashyap takes the first game.

8-5 Parupalli Kashyap (Chennai Smashers) takes a three-point lead into the mid-game break in the first.

 

Next up is the second men's singles match of the tie, between Sameer Verma of Mumbai Rockets and Chennai Smashers' Parupalli Kashyap. This is a Trump Match for Mumbai Rockets.

 

15-8 Sung Ji Hyun wraps up the match in straight games.

8-5 Sung Ji Hyun holds a three-point lead at the mid-game break in the second.

15-7 Sung Ji Hyun of Chennai Smashers takes the first game by a comfortable margin.

Next up is the women's singles match between Anura Prabhudesai (Mumbai Rockets) and Sung Ji Hyun (Chennai Smashers).

 

15-14 Mumbai Rockets wins the Trump Match, courtesy a forehand winner from Pia Zebadiah.

11-12 A jump smash crom Chris Adcock forces a backhand error and puts Chennai Smashers in the lead.

10-10 A body smash from Gabrielle Adcock levels the score, with Chennai Smashers coming from behind for the second successive game.

8-6 A forehand winner from Kim Gi Jung gives Mumbai Rockets a two-point lead at the mid-game break in the second. This is Chennai Smashers' Trump Match.

Second game.

15-14 Kim Gi Jung/Pia Zebadiah take the first game after the Adcocks failed to capitalise on a game point at 14-13.

 

8-5 A three-point lead for Mumbai Rockets at the mid-game break in the first.

6-3 Another forehand unforced error from Chris Adcock.

15-11 The Dane takes the second game and with it the match, giving Mumbai Rockets a 1-0 lead in the tie.

13-10 Antonsen leads Ouseph and has a chance to win the match in straight games.

 

15-14 Anders Antonsen wins the first game by the skin of his teeth.
