Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023: Deepak Hooda records his highest List A score in VHT semifinal versus Karnataka

Rajasthan Captain Deepak Hooda achieved his highest List A score during the Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinal match against Karnataka in Rajkot on Thursday.

The 28-year-old eclipsed his previous best of 161, also breaking the record for the highest score against Karnataka in domestic fifty-over cricket.
This was also the highest List A score by a batter from Rajasthan and the second-highest score in a List A chase by an Indian, behind Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw’s unbeaten 185.
Walking in to bat with the team in tottering at 1 for 2 after just eight balls in the innings, Hooda stitched up a 255-run partnership with Karan Lamba to help Rajasthan chase down the target of 283 set up by the opposition.
The middle order batter was eventualy dismissed for 180 off 128 balls, laced with 19 fours and five sixes.
After its six-wicket win, Rajasthan will take on Haryana, which defeated Tamil Nadu in the other semifinal, in the summit clash to be held on December 16, Saturday at Rajkot.
