Shami to miss Bengal’s next match

India pacer Mohammad Shami did not feature in the 16-member Bengal squad announced by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Monday for the Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha at Kalyani from November 9 to 12.

Shami (left) did not get clearance from the BCCI while Vidarbha will also miss the services of Umesh Yadav.

India pacer Mohammad Shami did not feature in the 16-member Bengal squad announced by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Monday for the Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha at Kalyani from November 9 to 12.

The CAB was interested to field Test team regulars Shami and wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha against Vidarbha. However, only Saha got the clearance from the BCCI, which apparently wanted give the pacers some rest ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka here from November 16.

Vidarbha will also miss the services of its ace pacer Umesh Yadav.
