Hashim Amla became the fourth South African batsman to reach 8000 runs in ODI cricket. The opener reached the milestone during South Africa's World Cup match against New Zealand in Birmingham on Wednesday.

He also became the second fastest to 8000 runs off 176 innings, with Virat Kohli being the quickest off 175 innings. Interestingly, Amla was the quickest from 2000-7000 ODI runs.
