Amir inspired a late comeback for Pakistan bowlers against Australia.

Australia looked set for a huge score after opening batsman David Warner smashed 107 off 111 balls (11x4, 6x1) but Pakistan bowlers fought back to restrict the defending champions to 307 all out in 49 overs. Pace spearhead Mohammed Amir was the pick of Pakistan's bowlers as he scalped five wickets and conceded just 30 runs in his 10 overs.

Amir recorded Pakistan's seventh five-wicket haul in the World Cup and became the sixth bowler to record a five-for in the showpiece event. Shahid Afridi remains the only Pakistan bowler with two five-wicket hauls to his name.

This is also Amir's best bowling performance in ODIs, his previous best being 4 for 28 against Sri Lanka in 2009 at Colombo.
