Ishan Kishan in action.

In the end, India get over the line with relative ease. Defending 176 was never going to be easy but the dismissals of Rohit and Kohli in one over may have raised hopes of a fightback. But Hooda and Suryakumar, after a brief stand between Pant and Ishan, saw the team home with six wickets to spare. Rohit's effortless 60 was the highlight. Chahal's four-for would've pleased the management. Prasidh Krishna had his moments too. India go 1-0 up in the three-match series. That would be all from our side. Thank you.

WEST INDIES 176 ALL OUT IN 43.5 OVERS

INNINGS RECAP

Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web around the Caribbean batters to restrict the visitor to just 176. Mohammed Siraj struck early, getting Shai Hope to chop on in the third over. The spinning duo then ripped through the middle and lower-middle order, as both Chahal and Sundar struck twice in an over on one occasion each. Jason Holder and Fabian Allen staged an impressive fightback with a 78-run stand for the eighth wicket before the latter handed an easy catch straight to Sundar. Prasidh Krishna soon got half-centurion Holder to edge behind to curtail the West Indian counter-attack.

WI 176/10 in 43.5 overs: OUT! Joseph holes out at long on and Chahal gets his fourth. Alzarri Joseph c Suryakumar Yadav b Yuzvendra Chahal 13(16b 1x4 1x6).

WI 174/9 in 43 overs: Prasidh's array of skills with the ball on display. A couple of yorkers, a couple of hard length deliveries outside off and a deceiving slower one to end the over. Just the one wide down leg from the over.

WI 173/9 in 42 overs: SIX! Joseph tonks it over long off as Chahal pitches it up too far ahead outside off. Just that aberrant loosener from Chahal as he ends up with five dots from the over.

WI 167/9 in 41 overs: Holder drives a full length outside off from Prasidh for a couple. OUT! Pace and bounce and Holder edges behind to the keeper. Jason Holder c Rishabh Pant b Prasidh Krishna 57(71 b 0x4 4x6). Roach in at No. 11. A couple of dots to end the over.

WI 165/8 in 40 overs : Three singles off Sundar's over, who keeps it on back of a length. He comes round the wicket to Joseph off the last ball on Pant's insistence. Joseph tucks it to square leg.

WI 162/8 in 39 overs: FOUR! Joseph is offered a gift by Thakur on his first ball that slides down leg and he gets enough bat on it to find the fine leg rope.

WI 157/8 in 38 overs: A couple for Holder at long on and that's his fifty. His 11th in ODIs comes off 58 balls. OUT! The softest of dismissals that hardly elicited a reaction from the players. It stops a bit in the pitch and Allen hands it straight back to Sundar. Fabian Allen c & b Washington Sundar 29(43b 2x4 0x6). Alzarri Joseph the new man in.

WI 154/7 in 37 overs: SIX! Thakur darts it too straight and Holder cross bats it over mid wicket for a big one. A couple more next ball behind square leg and he moves to 48. A serene straight drive but just a single for him. Beaten! Jags in, extra bounce and beats Allen to strike him high on his thigh.

WI 145/7 in 36 overs : Sundar back with the ball. Holder and Allen negotiate Sundar's shortish length with singles off the backfoot. Good resistance by the duo in trying circumstances.

WI 142/7 in 35 overs: The runs are piling on slowly but steadily. Allen leans back and flaps one to deep third man for a couple. Siraj responds with some short stuff but it is given wide for height.

WI 138/7 in 34 overs:SIX! Holder moves to the leg, makes room on the off and lifts it over extra cover for a maximum. It was slightly over-pitched from Chahal. Nine runs from the over.

WI 129/7 in 33 overs: A couple from Siraj's over and Allen-Holder bring up their fifty-run partnership.

WI 127/7 in 32 overs: SIX! Holder gets on one knee and slog sweeps Chahal for a maximum at deep mid wicket. A half-hearted effort from Prasidh in the deep and could have been taken.

WI 121/7 in 31 overs: Siraj back into the attack. Nips the first one into Holder from short of a length and he misses trying to flick it on leg. Inducker again, this time to Allen, and an inside edge misses the stumps and rolls on leg for one more. Miscued pull from Holder and falls in a vacant square leg region. It seemed to have copped him on the fingers and the physio is out taping them up. FOUR! Short and wide and Allen slaps it over backward point to the boundary.

Rohit: It looks a good pitch and might be slightly better to bat under lights. Happy to be back - playing for the country is the priority. I haven't played cricket for a couple of months but these things happen when you play all the time. We've got some positive cases in our camp, a couple of new faces.

Pollard: The toss is 50-50, no one knows what's going to happen. It's a big field, we need to rotate the strike. Kemar Roach comes back into our XI, Fabian Allen as well gets an opportunity in 50-over cricket and Darren Bravo gets a game.

12:46 pm: Rajasthan allrounder Deepak Hooda will make his ODI debut.
