The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has convened an emergency meeting of its Executive Committee on Saturday to pick the office-bearers for conducting the affairs of the association.

The DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda has submitted a list of 17 members, including some who had come in for criticism in the past for their way of functioning. The members will vote to pick the president, vice-president, treasurer, general secretary and joint-secretary.

Manchanda is part of the list along with Salil Seth, Siddharth Sahib Singh and Vikas Katyal, who had come in for praise from Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal for assisting him during his stint as the Delhi High Court-appointed administrator at DDCA.

“At the said meeting, we shall also resolve and undertake to implement the Lodha Committee Recommendations and do all necessary acts for the implementation of the same. We shall also immediately circulate the minutes of the meeting after the same is formally approved,” Manchanda said in the communication to the Lodha Panel.

PTI adds:

Former India opener Chetan Chauhan has relinquished his post as the vice-president of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict on January 2 and 3.

“I clarify my position that I have demitted my office of vice-president of the DDCA in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict on January 2 and 3. I had completed my nine years as office-bearer and as per norms I had to relinquish office. Post January 2, I had refused signing any document official or financial as it would have been contempt of court,” Chauhan said.
