Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly on Monday said that he had received ‘death threat’ from some unknown source.

Ganguly, who is also the Cricket Association of Bengal president, confirmed the news after chairing a CAB Working Committee meeting here.

“Day before yesterday I received an anonymous letter with death threat. I was supposed to attend a felicitation function, to be jointly organised by the Vidyasagar University and Medinipur district sports department, in Medinipur on January 19. I have informed the police and the organisers about the threat,” Ganguly told reporters.

However, Kolkata Police Joint Commissioner (Crime) Vishal Garg said they have “got nothing so far” on this development.
