It is official. Chris Gayle will not travel to India for the limited overs — both ODI and T20I — series. As reported first by Sportstar, the West Indies batting ace has ‘declined’ selection for the tour, the West Indies board has confirmed, while naming the squad for the limited overs series.

Much like its Test team, the limited overs squads also comprise inexperienced players after the selectors did not consider Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, perhaps keeping the World Cup in mind. However, the One-day side features Marlon Samuels.
