It is official. Chris Gayle will not travel to India for the limited overs — both ODI and T20I — series. As reported first by Sportstar , the West Indies batting ace has ‘declined’ selection for the tour, the West Indies board has confirmed, while naming the squad for the limited overs series.
Much like its Test team, the limited overs squads also comprise inexperienced players after the selectors did not consider Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, perhaps keeping the World Cup in mind. However, the One-day side features Marlon Samuels.

The new faces in the squad include 25-year-old batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj, 21-year-old medium pacer Oshane Thomas and 23-year-old all-rounder Fabian Allen.
Hemraj has been included in the ODI squad while Thomas and Allen have been included in both ODI and T20I squads. West Indies will play five ODIs, starting from October 21. It will be followed by the three-match T20I series.
