Hello and welcome to Sportstar's Live IPL 2020 coverage, Match 16 between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

Delhi Capitals 228/4 | Kolkata Knight Riders 210/8 Marcus Stoins bowls an excellent last over as he defends 26 in the final over as Eoin Morgan's heroics went in vain.

Delhi Capitals beats Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs.

Kolkata 203/7 after 19 overs: Anrich Notje might have handed the game to Delhi by removing Eoin Morgan. Kolkata needs 26 off 6.

Kolkata 198/6 after 18 overs: Eoin Morgan is keeping Kolkata in the hunt as he smacked Kagiso Rabada for three consecutive sixes and Rahul Tripathi ended the over with a boundary. Can Morgan help KKR chase down the highest total of the season? We will wait and watch.

Kolkata 175/6 after 17 overs. Three sixes and a boundary and Rahul Tewatia has hammered Marcus Stoinis for 24 runs. Kolkata requires 54 runs in 18 balls.

Kolkata 151/6 after 16 overs: Morgan is in search of boundaries and Kolkata needs to ensure the net run-rate doesn't take much a hit.

Kolkata 137/6 after 15 overs: Harshal Patel does an excellent job as he finishes with 2/34 from his quota of four overs. 92 off 5 overs. Can Morgan script a new IPL record remains to be seen.

Kolkata 131/6 after 14 overs: Anrich Nortje returns to remove Pat Cummins and Kolkata has fallen apart in this mammoth chase. England captain Eoin Morgan played a swanky pull for a maximum over deep square leg to lift the spirit. But Kolkata requires 98 runs off 36 deliveries.

Kolkata 118/5 after 13 overs: Harshal Patel narrowly missed a hat-trick after removing Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik. Rana was timing the ball sweetly but perished while attempting to clear the ropes, while Karthik falls for a top-edge. Game, done and dusted with Delhi firmly on top.

Kolkata 108/3 after 12 overs: Nitish Rana hits a fine half-century but Kolkata needs a big one from him if it needs to ace this record total. Karthik has been out of touch and this presents the skipper an opportunity to lead from the front.

Kolkata 100/3 after 11 overs. The 100 comes up for Kolkata but it needs to accelerate, given the fact the required rate has climbed nearly up to 15 runs per over. The skipper needs to play a blinder.

Kolkata 94/3 after 10 overs. Kagiso Rabada gets the big wicket of Andre Russell and what a catch by Anrich Nortje. Russell first muscled Rabada for a maximum and then goes for a pull shot, only to get a top-edge and Nortje takes an excellent catch running from the third man position. Skipper Dinesh Karthik has a job in his hands.

Kolkata 84/2 after 9 overs. Amit Mishra breaks the stand as Shubman Gill succumbs under pressure. After letting off Nitish Rana in his previous over, Mishra has got the big fish. Gill gets on one knee to play the slog sweep but only manages a top-edge as Rishabh Pant swallows it with his big gloves. A couple more and Delhi has the game in its pocket. Andre Russell walks out the sheds.

Kolkata 72/1 after 8 overs: Ashwin is bowling quicker, slightly back of the length denying the batsmen to step out. Bowls a decent over but concedes a boundary off the last ball.

Kolkata 61/1 after 7 overs. Amit Mishra drops a sitter off his own bowling and hands Nitish Rana a life on 27. How crucial would that be? Difficult one, but should have been taken. Nevertheless a superb over. Just two runs from it.

Kolkata 59/1 after 6 overs: End of PowerPlay and Kolkata is off to a bright start. The partnership is worth 51 off 28 and the duo needs to motor on.

Kolkata 48/1 after 5 overs: Shubman Gill crunches Marcus Stoinis with a powerful pull to the square leg boundary and what a shot that was. Standing tall, keeping his eyes on the ball, Gill pulls with so much control. Excellent exhibition.

Kolkata 39/1 after 4 overs: Shubman Gill has got into the act as he attacks Anrich Nortje with a boundary and then pulls the bowlers over deep square leg for a maximum. Nice little partnership is building.

Kolkata 27/1 after 3 overs: Nitish Rana has launched R Ashwin out of the park and that's not the comeback Ashwin would have wanted. Rana first tonks the off-spinner with a maximum over the deep square leg and them smokes him over long-on to get 15 runs off the over.

Kolkata 12/1 after 2 overs: Anrich Nortje picks his first wicket and gives Delhi a perfect start. Starts with a beamer and then knocks Narine over.

Kolkata 4/0 after 1 over: Excellent start from Kagiso Rabada as starts with two dot balls, rare in this match as four runs comes from the over.

Huge chase and the next 20 overs will decide if KKR can gun down the highest chase this season. Shubman Gill and Sunil Narine are out there in the middle and it will be Kagiso Rabada with the ball with Gill on strike.

End of Innings: Delhi 228/4 after 20 overs.

Shreyas Iyer shines with a brilliant 38-ball 88 as Delhi posts a massive 228/4. Special contributions from Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant has given the Delhi bowlers some kind of cushion to defend 228. Won't be easy with the small boundaries in Sharjah. Kolkata has the batsmen who can tonk the ball high and handsome. A good start will be the key. Delhi has posted its second highest total in the IPL. Back for the chase in a bit.

Delhi 221/3 after 19 overs: Shreyas Iyer has hammered Varun Chakravarthy for 20 runs and what sensational hitting this has been. The Delhi skipper has a chance to get to his hundred and Delhi has crossed the 220-run mark. Top stuff.

Delhi 201/3 after 18 overs: Rishabh Pant tears apart Andre Russell with a six and two boundaries but falls while trying to further up the ante. Marcus Stoinis joins Shreyas Iyer.

Delhi 186/2 after 17 overs: Shreyas Iyer is on fire as he tears apart Pat Cummins who leaks 17 in the over. A six over cow corner and then two solid boundaries. It's raining boundaries in Sharjah.

Delhi 169/2 after 16 overs: Shivam Mavi has taken a hit as he is taken for 18 in the over with Shreyas Iyer smashing his fastest fifty in the IPL. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has warmed up with two consecutive boundaries.

Delhi 151/2 after 15 overs: Kamlesh Nagarkoti ties down Rishabh Pant and the batsman is clearly struggling to time the ball. Pant needs just a couple of good shots to get into the groove. Meanwhile, Iyer is approaching his fifty.

Delhi 142/2 after 14 overs: Shreyas Iyer is motoring on and he holds the key for Delhi. A couple of wickets could push them on the backfoot and Kolkata sense an opportunity here with the wicket of Prithvi Shaw. Rishabh Pant has an opportunity to shine under lights in Sharjah.

Delhi 131/2 after 13 overs: Kamlesh Nagarkoti gets his man as Prithvi Shaw falls for a brilliant 41-ball 66. However, he will regret of not staying along with his skipper. Goes for a heave, gets a toe-end and Shubman Gill takes an excellent skier to give Kolkata respite. Rishabh Pant joins Iyer.

Delhi 121/1 after 12 overs: Massive over from Delhi's point of view and both Prithvi Shaw and Shreays Iyer have taken the attack to the opposition with Varun Chakravarthy facing the brunt of some brutal hitting. Iyer is in some mood as the pick of the shot in the over was from his bat that soared way over long-on.

Delhi 105/1 after 11 overs: Prithvi Shaw brings his second fifty of the season with a flat-batted six over long on and this has been some sensational batting. Brace yourself for a cracker of a game on a belter. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer has tonked Kamlesh Nagarkoti for the second six of the over as the ball flies over the backward square leg.

Delhi 89/1 after 10 overs: Shreyas Iyer is determined and signals his arrival with a sweep sweep over mid-wicket off Narine. Half-way through and Delhi motoring on nicely.

Delhi 78/1 after 9 overs: Andre Russell is doing an excellent job and is keeping things tight at the other end. Prithvi Shaw was hurt with a Pat Cummins throw but is back on his feet.

Delhi 75/1 after 8 overs: Prithvi Shaw has set the stage on fire and this time slams Shivam Mavi over extra cover for a six. He is turning it on in Sharjah.

Delhi 61/1 after 7 overs: Andre Russell starts with an excellent first over as he gives just four runs. Shreyas Iyer is in need of some runs and this is a perfect opportunity with Prithvi Shaw in company.

Delhi 57/1 after 6 overs: Varun Chakravarthy gets the well-set Shikhar Dhawan as the southpaw falls to the sweep shot, that got him two sixes. It turned away as Dhawan closed in on the shot and the ball hitting the toe-end of the bat balooned in the air with Eoin Morgan settling under an excellent catch. Partnetship broken and it's the mystery man from Tamil Nadu. Skipper Shreyas Iyer joins Prithvi Shaw.

Delhi 51/0 after 5 overs: Bang Bang! Dhawan welcomes Sunil Narine with two massive sixes, one over square leg and the second over the deep as the fifty-run opening stand is up.

Delhi 36/0 after 4 overs: Varun Chakravarthy starts with a relatively good one as he mixes his deliveries but Dhawan cashes in with a wonderful cover drive. Still the bowler's over.

Delhi 29/0 after 3 overs: Prithvi Shaw is up and running as he smokes Pat Cummins for a huge six over mid-wicket before fetching a boundary over the same region. Delhi is off to a goood start.

Delhi 16/0 after 2 overs: Shikhar Dhawan gets going as he welcomes Shivam Mavi with a boundar over third man but Mavi comes back brilliantly by ending the over with two dot balls.

Delhi 8/0 after 1 over: Prithvi Shaw starts with a boundary with a firm punch through mid-on as Delhi is off the mark.

IPL MATCH TODAY:

Iyer: Would've also looked to bowl considering the dew. Wicket looks amazing. Happy to bat as well. Have talked about it. Have got slow starts in the last few games. Important we don't lose wickets in pp. Have batsmen who can come in the later half and cover up. Ashwin in for Axar. Harshal in for Ishant. They have left-handers. Harshal gives batting down the order.

Karthik: Going to bowl first. Maybe a little bit to do with the dew. Both games so far have gone with the bowling team. We're on the right path. Instead of Kuldeep, we have Rahul Tripathi. Wanted to add depth to our batting. This is like every Indian ground we play on. Nothing new.

Pitch Report: "It is the most amazing pitch. It is absolutely beautiful; a batsman's paradise. It is going to be key for the fast bowling to get it right at the end. They have got to get their yorkers right. The standard of bowling hasn't been the standard you would expect. With the dew factor here, it will be very difficult to defend," say Kevin Pietersen and Michael Slater.
