While Muzumdar will be working with the batsmen, Bahutule—who is also the Bengal head-coach—is expected to look after the bowlers.
While the officials remained tight-lipped on the development, Sportstar has learnt that both Muzumdar and Bahutule took charge a few weeks ago. They would be working alongside Royals' cricket director Zubin Bharucha.
Both Bahutule and Muzumdar—also former team-mates in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy side—attended the first two-day team camp at the Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday. It will see seven Indian players undergo training.
On day one, young guns—Aryaman Birla, Mahipal Lomror, S Midhun and Jatin Saxena—attended the role specification camp.
Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane too was in attendance to encourage the players. He also had a long chat with Royals’ executive chairman, Ranjit Barthakur.
Shane Warne — who captained Royals for four seasons, from 2008 to 2011—will miss the first half of the camp but is expected to join the team towards the end of March .
