These are two batsmen who can bash the ball heavily, all around the ground.

Sam Billings, the Delhi Daredevils opener, sizzled nicely in the limited experience he had in the Indian Premier League last year; and this year, too, he has shown his capacity for blistering attacks. He has got starts in all the matches he has played so far in the tournament, the highlight being a half-century that laid the foundation for Daredevils’ 51-run win over Kings XI Punjab last week. Despite being a wicketkeeper, he finds a spot in the team as a batsman, occupying one of four spots available for imports. It shows the confidence Daredevils has in him.

On Saturday, he will compete against Mumbai Indians, a team that possesses another wicketkeeper-batsman, a more prominent one in terms of international experience. Jos Buttler has shown his propensity for match-winning blitzes; his whirlwind 77 constructed at a strike-rate of 205.55 trumped Hashim Amla’s century as it helped chase down a target of 199 in just 15.3 overs on Thursday. Will he continue his hot form on Saturday against Daredevils?
