12.12 PM: From Nagpur, Amol Karhadkar: With a single to long-on off the last ball before lunch, Jaffer returns to the change room unbeaten on 98 (83b, 14x4, 1x6). He may not have scored a hundred in the first session, but along with youngster Atharva Taide (71 not out, 90b, 12x4), he has piled on the misery for Mumbai's bowling attack. Thanks to the duo's unbroken second-wicket stand of 159 runs for the second wicket, Vidarbha is sitting pretty at 171 for 1.

12.11 PM: P. K. Ajith Kumar reports from Mohali: Kerala is dire straits at Mohali. The visitors, put in, are taking lunch at 88 for seven. 11.46 AM: Amol Karhadkar, reporting from Nagpur, has this to say: They have enjoyed Wasim Jaffer toying with the opposition bowlers for years. It's time the Mumbai camp receives the same treatment from the 40-year-old. Jaffer isn't wasting any opportunity to score with rookie Taide also is full flow. 11.20 AM: Amol Karhadkar with a picture of the goings-on in Nagpur: Boundaries are coming thick and fast. Taide gets to his fifty first with an on-drive off Ranjane (92m, 50b, 11x4). Jaffer crosses the landmark in the next over (72m, 44b, 7x4, 1x6).

11.18 AM: At Eden Gardens, it's lunch. Delhi 105 for 5 in 30 overs. Jonty Sidhu and Shivam Sharma are batting. The sixth-wicket stand is worth 32. Ashok Dinda, the right-arm fast bowler, has three wickets.

10.52 AM: Here's V. V. Subrahmanyam, from Vizianagaram: Hyderabad 89 for two, loses opener Tanmay Agarwal against Andhra on first morning in Vizianagaram.

10.38 AM: Here's Amol Karhadkar, from Nagpur: What turned out to be the last ball of Deshpande's spell, Shubham Ranjane at first slip spilled a chance offered by Atharva Taide. The left-hander then welcomed Shivam Dube into the attack with a pull. Double change in bowling, with spin introduced in the 14th over. And Jaffer is keen on making his maiden appearance against his alma mater special. A late cut off left-arm spinner Dhrumil Matkar is followed a charge down the wicket for a straight six.

10.33 AM: More from P. K. Ajith Kumar, from Mohali (Punjab vs Kerala): Team news from Mohali: Yuvraj Singh has come in to further strengthen the formidable Punjab batting, replacing Sanvir Singh. There is a change of personnel behind the stumps as well, with Gitansh Khera replacing Abhishek Gupta.

For Kerala, third seamer M.D. Nidheesh makes a return, in place of the unfortunate Vinoop S. Manoharan, the off-spinner who was the joint top-scorer in Kerala's innings victory against Delhi at Thiruvananthapuram a fortnight ago. The other change is Mohammed Azharuddeen, who has replaced teenaged batsman Vatsal Govind.

10.28 AM: Ashwin Achal, our correspondent from Bengaluru, says: Chhattisgarh making good use of the new ball (against Karnataka). Opener Padikkal dismissed fishing outside off, debutante misses an inswinger and is trapped LBW. Seamer Pankaj Rao, stuttering run up notwithstanding, takes both wickets.

10.19 AM: Our correspondent from Nagpur says: Atharva Taide, the teenager, is a member of the promising India U-19 lot. The left-handed opener, having made his first-class debut last week, has enjoyed Thakur's pace. Barring a slash that went over the cordon, all his five fours off the speedster have been sweetly timed. Jaffer, meanwhile, is taking his time. Vidarbha 37 for 1.

Jaffer joins the party with Thakur making the mistake of bowling on his pads off successivd balls. On both occasions, square leg has to fetch the ban from the boundary line. The next one is shorter in length and wide of off and Jaffer effortlessly steers past gully for the third consecutive four.

10.11 AM: Our correspondent sends his warm " greeting from a cold, cold Mohali, where the temperature is 9 degree Celsius, as Punjab and Kerala begin their crucial Elite Group B encounter. Punjab won the toss and promptly put Kerala in."

P. Rahul and Arun Karthik have taken Kerala to 24 for no loss in the eighth over.

10.10 AM: Our correspondent from Kolkata says: Delhi enjoying a lot of luck. A dropped catch, a catch off no ball and Hiten Dalal not given out twice even after edging to the keeper off Dinda. Delhi 60/3 after 13 overs. Drinks break. Dalal batting on 22.

10.02 AM: Our correspondent at Jamtha Stadium says: Shardul Thakur, playing his first competitive game after two and a half months, asks Vikrant Auti to move from covers to short point. So close was Auti asked to positive himself by Thakur that the fielder asked for a helmet. And Thakur's ploy worked as three balls later, captain Faiz Gazal played an uppish stroke to Auti. Vidarbha 12 for 1

9.55 AM: Delhi skipper Nitish Rana perishes leaving the side at 58/3 against Bengal. Rana offers a caught and bowled to Aamir.

9.33 AM: Hyderabad 19 for one, loses debutant Tilak Verma to pacer Sashimanth against Andhra on first day.

9.27 AM: Pawan Suyal is having a dream outing in Sovima. He has claimed all four Arunachal Pradesh wickets this morning. His figures read 5.2-2-14-4. Arunachal tottering at 29-4.

9.16 AM: Puducherry has won the toss and has elected to field against Manipur. Akshay Kumar Singh makes it to the Manipur squad. He is the oldest cricketer in the tournament this season. Before the match begins, read this piece by Wriddhaayan Bhattacharyya.

8:50 AM: So, Delhi has lost an early wicket against Bengal at the Eden Gardens! Kunal Chandela has been cleaned up by Ashok Dinda for a duck and Delhi is at 0-1. This comes after Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first.

8.50 AM: In Guwahati, Irfan Pathan has struck ! Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed has got the first wicket as Biplab Saikia is trapped leg before by Pathan for 0. Assam 2-1. Not an ideal start for the side.
