Sri Lanka posted its third-highest One-Day International total in World Cups and managed to defeat West Indies by 23 runs at Chester-le-Street, Durham.
Thanks to Nicholas Pooran, who scored a century, West Indies was well in the hunt for the win all the way through its run-chase. But it turned out to be yet another loss for the side, its sixth in the ongoing World Cup.
For Sri Lanka, Avishka Fernando played the sheet anchor role, scoring a century.
