When the T10 Cricket League made its debut in Dubai last year, it had a lone Indian representative in Virender Sehwag who led the Maratha Arabians.

Though he had a forgettable outing, Sehwag remained one of the most sought after cricketers in the tournament.  However, the second season in November will see Sehwag take on the mantle of Arabians' batting coach.

“We have decided to bring in Sehwag as the batting coach, and it is difficult to imagine the Maratha Arabians without Sehwag — who led the team last year,” Maratha Arabians’ co-owner, Parvez Khan, told Sportstar from Dubai on Thursday. Former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, will continue to mentor the team.

“I spoke to Sehwag recently and he has agreed to take up the new role. He wanted to help out the batsmen and we are looking forward to it,” Khan said.

Afghanistan’s spin sensation, Rashid Khan, has joined the franchise as the key player for this edition.
