ATK has acquired the services of centre-back Anas Edathodika for the forthcoming Indian Super League season, the club has announced.

The 32-year-old Anas has played for the Indian national team — forming a solid defensive partnership with Sandesh Jhingan — and for various clubs in his career.

In 2017-18 he played for Jamshedpur FC in the ISL, before switching to Kerala Blasters in 2018. He joined his India team-mate Jhingan at Blasters.

Commenting on the signing of Anas, ATK head coach Antonio Habas said, “I am very pleased with the signing of Anas Edathodika. He has established himself as a star defender and I believe he has a lot of potential. He will be an essential addition to the defence of the team.”

Anas said: “I’m delighted to sign for ATK. I want to come and help the team, that’s always been my goal wherever I have played.  I look forward to meeting the staff and players.”
