SECOND-HALF UNDERWAY!!!

The conditions are tough out there in the Maldives national football stadium and it is surely the survival of the fittest as the minutes tick-on.

ATKMB started the match well with a direct attacking approach, unlike its tendency to soak pressure and counter. It almost paid off as Krishna found the net in the fifth minute but he was offside when the ball was played to him by Manvir from the right. Thus, the goal was cancelled.

Maziya gradually found its footing and in the 25th minute, displayed a great counter attack to grab a lead in the game. It was Aisam Ibrahim's goal but it was made by Cornelius Stewart who made a great run inside the opponent half.

Don't go anywhere. Live action awaits from the second half!!!

HALF TIME: MAZIYA 1- 0 ATK MOHUN BAGAN!!

45+1' Maziya putting pressure on ATKMB in the dying seconds of the first half. A searching ball inside the box but Pritam clears.

ONE MINUTE ADDEDD!!

43' Reckless play by the Maziya backline on the left as Liston grabbed a loose ball and sent a low-piercing cross into the box. Mirzokhid keeps his calm and collects the ball to break the pressure.

40' BOOKING- Maziya's Nihan sees a yellow for his clumsy challenge on Roy Krishna.

39' Tough conditions out there as the sweltering heat is apparent in the faces of the players on the pitch. We might see the match gradually fading in tempo during the later stages.

36' SHOT- Its Liston from the left again as he shoots at Mirzokhid. His shot is wide.

35' Liston brimming with exuberance but slightly immature in his gameplay as he is trying to do too much alone and ending up stuck in traffic. He needs to release the ball at the right time.

33' ATKMB's corner is poor and Maziya gets a goalkick.

33' A good spell of pressure for ATK Mohun Bagan as Maziya cannot seem to steer the ball into safety.

32' CHANCE- Liston with a great free kick at Maziya's goal. His shot was at a comfortable height for Mirzokhid who punches away.

28' CHANCE- That goal has stirred Maziya up. Its Cornelius from the right again initiating a great attack. However, his ball into the box not finding any finisher.

25' GOOAAALLL!!!! MAZIYA SCORES!! ITS AISAM IBRAHIM!!! A CLASSIC COUNTER ATTACK!! ATKMB had a freekick on the other end. David William's poor delivery allowed Maziya to clear easily. Cornelius Stewart darted forward and after a great run, delivered a beautiful low-ball to Ibrahim, who had a simple tap-in.

21' The two teams are split evenly possession wise- ATKMB's early pressure has petered out.

18' Maziya has done well defensively but has been sloppy from the midfield to attack transition play. Lots of loose passes giving away possession cheaply to ATK Mohun Bagan.

16' Its Manvir from the right again. His cross finds Krishna in space, who shoots at goal. The shot is blocked. Maziya's Odawara visibly angry at his team's defending.

14' Manvir is proving to be a menace on the right flank with his darting runs and searching crosses into the box. Maziya might want to keep him in check.

12' Maziya slowly finding its foot in the game, asking some questions to ATKMB's backline. It seems as if Maziya has taken a leaf out of ATKMB's book. It is soaking the pressure and trying to hit the Kolkata side on the counter.

9' Tricky corner for ATKMB to deal with. Pritam missed his kick and failed to clear, which led to Amrinder finding himself in a tricky position. The goalkeeper handled the situation well and sends the ball to safety.

7' BOOKING- Deepak Tangri brcomes the first player to go into the referee's book

7' ATKMB has made its intentions clear from the start. Direct, attacking play in the opposition half. Maziya slightly rattled and still hasn't found its rhythm.

5' GOAL RULED OUT!! OFFSIDE!! Maziya completely exposed as Manvir rolled in a great ball from the right, which Krishna tucked away in the far-corner of Mirzokhid's goal. He was offside.

2' ATKMB on the attack from the get-go. It has won a corner in the second minute of the match. Nothing comes of it as Maziya clears it with ease.

Preview

On a high after a clinical performance in its opener, ATK Mohun Bagan would look for back-to-back success and move closer to qualifying for the knockout stage when it faces Maziya Sports & Recreation of Maldives in an AFC Cup group game here on Saturday.

Antonio Lopez Habas' Kolkata side beat fellow Indian club Bengaluru FC 2-0, registering more shots on target despite having only 32 percent possession.

A win on Saturday could put ATK Mohun Bagan on the verge of a knockout berth from Group D but Habas is keeping his focus only on the match.

"We are going from match to match, and we have another opponent waiting," said Habas.

"It's the same idea to give absolute respect to the opponent and we will need to develop our football on the pitch. In football, you could have one bad day or situation that could change the outcome."

The Spaniard said his players will need to play with intensity throughout the 90 minutes.

"We know how they (Maziya Sports & Recreation) played with other teams, but we have to see how they will perform against us, because maybe they might play differently with a different behaviour."

The home side, on the other hand, is coming into the match after a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh's Bashundhara Kings.

It fell to two first half goals against Bashundhara but head coach Risto Vidakovic is hoping to build on its second half performance to upset ATK Mohun Bagan.

"I've talked to the players, and we know that we didn't play our best game. We were too nervous, especially in the first half. After the first goal, the team was more nervous," Vidakovic said.

"It's not easy to be two goals down and turn everything, as it's too much pressure. But that game is in the past, and we have to focus on the future. We have another opportunity (against ATK Mohun Bagan) and we are going for it."

The winner of the four-team Group D will advance to the inter-zone semifinals against either FC Nasaf of Uzbekistan or FC Ahal of Turkmenistan from the central cone.
