Man City wins the Manchester derby; Highlights MCI 3-1 MUN Premier League; Foden brace and late Haaland goal completes comeback

Man City completes its comeback in fine fashion as it kept piling on the pressure on Man United’s goal, controlling the possession, the tempo of the game and taking chances in large numbers in the final third. Foden scores brace to complete the comeback and in the end Haaland, added the cherry on top. Deserved winners of the Manchester Derby!

Foden makes way for Oscar Bobb. 

Rodri wins the ball and passes it to Erling Haaland at the edge of the box as he takes a few touches and makes a side-footed finish from his left foot and buries the ball in the bottom left corner. 

Eight minutes has been added as stoppage time. 

De Bruyne pushes from teh left with the ball and plays a cutting pass for Haaland inside the box but cleared away by Varane. 

Cty is holding the ball now as united seems to be in a helpless situation not even getting close to stealing the ball. 

City has completed its comeback! Foden plays it to Alvarez on the left and continues his run as Alvarez provides him with the delivery as he takes afew touches and buries the ball into the back of the net. 

Garnacho was through on goal but Ederson steps out and makes a sliding tackle inside the box perfectly, to win the ball back!

Antony comes in for Rashford!

Bruno makes a great interception in midfield and breaks into a counter but the move amounts to nothing and possession is squandered by the red devils. 

Haaland dribbles centrally and was moving into the box but Varane brings him down at the edge of the box. Yellow card awarded for the Frenchman. De Bruyne takes the free-kick but it hits the wall. 

United on the counter as Rashford passes central to Bruno from the left but the Portuguese fails to control it and gives it away. 

Foden switches the wing and plays a cross to Bernardo on the left who heads it to the centre of the box for Haaland, but he mis-times his jump. 

Doku makes way for Julian Alvarez!

Yellow card to Ten Hag for quarrelling with the ref. 

Foden runs with the ball around the box from the right and creates space to make a left-footed curling finish as the ball ends at the top left corner from distance. 

Bernardo plays a dink into the box for Haaland but he mis-judges it. 

United is holding the ball and controlling the tempo of the game for a change but it loses the ball in the midfield eventually. 

Haaland tries to hold the ball inside the box and passes it to Bernardo on the right who sets up a shot for Doku, but saved by Onana. 

City continues to hold possession as the home side is desperately looking for an equaliser. 

City has had the lion’s share of possession and has made countless attacks on goal but United’s defensive has managed to fend it off well. Onana has made a couple of potentially match-winning saves keeping his side ahead. Rashford’s early goal is enough for United at the halfway point but as things are going, it seems like City is only a matter of attempts away from making it square again. Haaland misses an easy sitter right near the halftime whistle. 

Bernardo flicks it for De Bruyne on the left at the edge of the box and his pass inside his cleared away by Varane. 

Foden heads the ball to Haaland inches away from an open goal but the goal scoring machine fired a blank as he misses a sitter. The volley goes over the goal post. 

Bernardo plays a cross from the left for Haaland who fails to make a connection as the ball goes to Foden and his volley strikes Mainoo’s face. 

The ball is astray at the edge of the United box as De Bruyne takes a half-volley attempt but puts way too much power into it. Goalkick. 

De Bruyne plays a cutting pass into the box to Foden who takes a touch and fires a shot but blocked by the United backline which has crowded itself in front of its goal. 

Rodri takes a chance off of the volley aiming for the bottom right corner but Onana makes an amazing diving save!

Doku receives a great pass on the left from Stones who takes a shot, Casemiro heads it up to clear it but Haaland is underneath the ball in the box, but his header flies over the cross-bar. 

Doku and Bernardo plays a solid one-two from the left wing into the box as Doku takes the final shot on goal but off-target. 

De Bruyne plays a cross towards the far post from the left for Bernardo but Onana steps out and collects it. 

Rodri takes a shot from distance but United has crowded it box. The ball goes out for a corner but it amounts to nothing. 

Bruno plays a cross towards the far post to Rashford who was unmarked and in a great scoring position but he loses balance and fails to register a shot. 

Ake plays it to Foden who plays it ahead to De Bruyne on the left but his shot is blocked away by Mainoo.

City breaks into a corner as De Bruyne plays the perfect through to Foden who had a lot of green space in front of him, but his shot is stopped by Onana yet again. 

Rashford was through on goal on the counter but he had Walker right on his shoulders and he pressurizes the attacker to lose the ball. 

Bernardo plays it ahead to Foden inside the box who takes a shot but saved by Onana. 

KDB dribbles from the middle and beats a couple defenders but the ball runs away from him inside the box. 

City wins a corner which is cleared away by Bruno, another corner but chance wasted. 

United pushes ahead in numbers as Onana plays it to Bruno deep inside City’s half who passes it back to Rashford and the forward fires a shot from 25 yards out, and finds the top left corner! 

United breaks into a counter from the left as Garnacho sprints with the ball towards goal but his pass inside the box is caught by Ederson. 

Foden switches the wing to Doku who cuts in and tries to find the net on the near post but his shot is off-target. 

KDB plays it to Stones inside the box as he goes down but the referee says play on. 

City is on the prowl from the get-go as it wins an early corner. KDB steps up to take it and plays it short. Foden takes a shot from distance and the ball deflects away for another corner, but nothing amounts off of it. 

This will be De Bruyne’s 250th Premier League appearance!
