Japan will take on 2018 finalist Croatia in the Round of 16 stage of the FIFA World Cup at Al Janoub Stadium on Monday.
Japan finished ahead of Spain to take top spot in Group E, while Croatia took the second spot in Group F behind Morocoo.
The Asian team has faced Croatia thrice previously with a win a piece for both teams and a draw.
They have met at the World Cup twice in 1998 and 2006 with Croatia winning 1-0 in France before a goalless draw was played out in the Germany edition.
