Kabaddi World Cup: South Korea trounces England

Cheol Gyu Shin was the chief architect of South Korea’s win scoring 11 raid points. He was followed by Dong Gyu Kim (7 raid points) and Gyung Tae Kim (6 tackle points).

South Korea topped Group A after thrashing England 56-17 in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup at the Arena by TransStadia on Sunday.

Cheol Gyu Shin was the chief architect of South Korea’s win scoring 11 raid points. He was followed by Dong Gyu Kim (7 raid points) and Gyung Tae Kim (6 tackle points). India, second in Group A, has one more match against England on Tuesday.

In a Group B match, Thailand crushed USA to move to the second position behind Iran and also made Japan’s chances of advancing to the semi-finals vulnerable. Kenya sprang a surprise in the final match of the day by bringing down Japan by 21 points.

Kenya will play its last league match against USA on Tuesday. Thailand and Japan will clash in the last Group B match on Wednesday. As of now Iran is sitting pretty on top with 20 points and with a match in hand.

Group A: Korea bt England 56-17 Group B: Thailand bt USA 69-22; Kenya bt Japan 48-27.
