Algeria’s Imane Khelif beat China’s Yang Liu to claim the gold medal in the women’s welterweight boxing at the Olympics on Friday.

Khelif, a silver medallist at the 2022 world championships, and Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting have been in the spotlight at the Paris Games amid a gender dispute that has dominated headlines.

Janjaem Suwannapheng of Thailand and Taiwan’s Chen Nien-chin were awarded bronze.

A 5-0 win for Lazizbek Mullojonov over Loren Berto Alfonso Dominguez. He claims the men’s 92kg final title of boxing.

Yet another gold for the Chinese contingent! It is Wu Yu who bests Turkiye’s Buze Naz Cakiroglu 4-1 for the first place in women’s 50kg boxing.

USA’s Rai Benjamin wins gold in the Men’s 400m hurdles! A Season Best time of 46.46 gets him his first Olympic Gold Medal. 

Norway’s Karsten Warholm will have to settle for the silver.

Ma Ning’s penalty attempt is saved by the Dutch keeper. 3-1 it is in the women’s gold medal match.

By the barest of margins! A 25-24 margin will see Germany enter the Gold Medal match. Spain will have to fight for bronze.

China Ma Long, Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong win the men’s team gold, defeating Sweden 3-0. Ma Long is now the only TT player to win six Olympic titles.
