The women’s air pistol team of Yashaswini Singh Deswal, Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat won the bronze in the team championship, as it beat Hungary 16-12 in the shooting World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, on Friday.
The Indian trio had actually topped the first stage of qualification of the team event. However, it slipped to the third spot in the second stage of qualification behind Bulgaria and Germany. Thus, the team had to be content fighting for the bronze and winning it.
The men’s air rifle team of Divyansh Singh Panwar, Deepak Kumar and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar missed a medal.

The team first missed the chance to fight for the gold by losing to Hungary by 0.2 point. Later, it was beaten 16-14 by Serbia, which had finished fourth behind India in the second stage of qualification.

The women’s air rifle team of Apurvi Chandela, Elavenil Valarivan and Anjum Moudgil placed 11th.
With only two shooters in men’s air pistol, in Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma, India could not field a team.
In men’s skeet, Gurjoat Khangura placed 56th with 115, following a series 24, 23, 23, 21 and 24. The top six had a minimum qualification score of 123 out of 125 in making the cut for the final, in a field of 73 shooters.
