Nicolas Jarry ended Matteo Berrettini's improbable seven-match winning streak, as the remaining seeds crashed out of the Generali Open at the quarterfinal stage.
Berrettini, playing his first full ATP World Tour season, climbed 30 places to a career-high ranking of 54th after claiming his maiden title last week at the Swiss Open Gstaad, where he also strung together his first four doubles wins to take a second crown.

But, the 22-year-old's hopes of another triumph were dashed by Jarry in the last eight in Austria, as the Chilean won out 7-5, 6-3.
Jarry is now well placed to break his own title duck on the Tour as he faces a semifinal against Denis Istomin, who knocked out sixth seed Maximilian Marterer 6-3, 6-3.
On the other side of the draw, eighth seed Dusan Lajovic crashed out after seeing a one-set lead overturned by Martin Klizan. Jaume Munar is up next for Klizan after the Spaniard saw off Taro Daniel 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
