Ramkumar bows out in pre-quarters in Newport

Davis Cupper Ramkumar Ramanathan was beaten 7-6(5), 6-0 by Ugo Humbert of France in the pre-quarterfinals of the $652,245 ATP tennis tournament in Newport, US.

The 134th ranked Ramkumar who came through the qualifying event, won 32 ATP points and $9,820. He had reached the final of the tournament last year, and had won 150 points, in reaching a career-best rank of 111.
